Its a very nice bike. Or you could just buy my bike for a fraction of the cost.  Grin

lol... guess you didn't look at my sig line... I already have a track bike.  '05 CBR600RR.  Still needs bodywork, but it's got everything else now.

Of course considering my current employment circumstances, it may be getting posted on Craigslist.  Tongue

Anyway, the 'sedici is just a really haute bike.

Oh, and just for points of interest the guy completely ripped a good bit of his "personal" description right out of a Brit rag from a few months ago.  Maybe not intentionally - I would never suppose someone would do that - but done it was.

Heh, doesn't surprise me the poster "borrowed" copyrighted material... it was way too flashy to have been entirely honest.  Not even sure he actually has the bike for sale.  If I had a Desmocedici for sale, I don't think Craigslist is the first place I'd be posting.  How about... MotoCorsa?  I'm sure they'd loooooove to have a D16RR sitting in the showroom on consignment.

You could probably get more posting it in on the OMRRA.com forums... but if you keep it... I have a single rail tiny bike trailer that would fit behind your VW. You can have it if you want it. he he he. Or, if you want me to take it to the track and sell it for you... my other trailer fits two bikes... I can take it with me to show to guys at the track.

Thanks for the offer and suggestions, Ryan!  We'll see how the job search goes.  There's some cool stuff I've found in the aerospace industry in Oregon and Washington.  It'll be later in March before I decide whether the CBR has to go.  If the search drags on too long, or I move too far from home, it'll go on the chopping block.  If I stay within driving distance of Mom & Dad's, where I have access to a tow vehicle, trailer, and storage, I'll try to keep it.  Both of my bros really want to go try it out at the track, so I'm at least gonna try to keep it.

Speaking of lightweight trailers... I gotta find out what the deal is with the GTI VR6.  I can find Class I hitches for regular Golfs, but they all say they are not for the VR6 models.  Funny, the VR6 has more power and braking.  I would think if any of them are better for towing a small trailer, the VR6 is it.  Whatever...  One of these days I'll get around to buying a truck or full-size SUV, then it won't be an issue.

Different trim, bumper, or pseudo-framerails on the VR6 perhaps?

Best guess is the rear valance or the VR's beefier exhaust cause problems.  At first glance the rear valance looks the same, but I've never looked closely at mine vs. my bro's '95 Golf.  I know the rear of the unibody and the steel bumper core are identical between VR's and regular Golfs.  Whatever the issue, it's possibly a limited enough market that nobody bothered to create a specific hitch to fit it.  If I really wanted to go nuts, I could buy a hitch for another Golf, figure out what needed modded/fabbed, and get it done.  It's just not a high enough priority for me to mess with.

I ordered some spare break and clutch levers on eBay for the SV.... all OEM stuff... and brand new.... $1.00 each... and it seems like its been taking a tad long on shipping... so I go to eBay to talk to seller.... and I just noticed that I ordered it from Taiwan.... oye... could take awhile. I need to pay attention when I buy my crap on the webs.

You just need the upper triple?

Check wera, svforums, and obviously ebay.  Smiley  There are some salvage yards close to Portland that may have stuff too.  I forget which, I would need to look over some old emails/PMs but I recal talking with someone about getting some spares from them.

If I wanna go with the "S" version... I need both top and bottom triple... right? They got a different rake... so you would need both. To my understanding.

Thats correct, I forgot about that.

I replaced mine as the original ones were bent.  I forget now how much I paid, but I dont think it was much more then $100.
