be very careful when taking this advice.  i got bored one day and was like "im gonna get rid of the wire ties on the frame!!"
and they told me it was gonna be impossible to put different gauges on a immobilizer bike.  ha!!

Did the bike start up straight away or did you have to mod anything after you removed the gauges?

i tend to overdo things and now im about 6 hours into it with rerouting everything, removing the part of the wiring harness that goes in front of the steering stem, and preparing for new gauges.  i took a good 4 hours to get all the wiring done and out of the way, but i still have to pull it all apart and shorten the wires and rewrap the harness so it eliminates just about everything.

aye, precisely why i've been looking for matching cable-ties... i could see how much fiddling it was going to be. mind you, i now have a garage and winter is almost here in the frozen north, lol. maybe in november i will prop the tank up and have a look... maybe not.  Wink

eyeboy, i wasnt trying to discourage you.  i just have a habit of overdoing everything.

i never technically removed the old gauges.  i took them apart and kept the board thats inside the stock gauges.  the immobilizer is inside the gauges on that board somewhere.  i will be building a waterproof box to keep the stock board in and running a aftermarket set of gauges.

a pic of the part of the original gauges im using (the board) and the second pic is just to show how thick it is and that it still uses the same plug for the gauges like always.

i wouldnt recommend it.  i think i left it on the charger too long and the vac doesnt work.  and as dirty as my shop gets, the pads are useless almost instantly.

i've been looking for something like this... thanks 'Cable-Ties N' More'!

I'll probably spend a few hours hiding the wire eventually, but would like to give the grey ties a shot first.  I looked through www.cabletiesandmore.com and didn't see any in grey...is this where you got them?  Thanks!
