seat question

will a DP "low" seat from a 08 S4RS fit on an 08 695?

According to Ducati.com it will, but I think I heard someone tell me that the 20mm lower seat is on the 695 as stock. No FHE, though.

That was my understanding, too.  The 695 (620, 600) comes with the low seat, and has slightly lower suspension, to be beginner and small folk friendly.
