I've never met a snotty Irish bartender before. Are you sure she was Irish?

Maredsous is good stuff... which one did you have? IIRC, they have a 6% blond, 8% dark, and 10% tripel. I haven't tried the tripel yet, but the others are quite good!
BTW, there was a beer festival in brussels this weekend... life is good!
