I did some wire-hiding this weekend, and I did something that I haven't seen specifically mentioned here.
I removed the side panels and re-routed the wires to the tail-light underneath the seat, and over the top of the regulator; however, the seat would not go back onto the bike b/c the plastic piece on the under-seat cover that sits right behind the regulator (see blue arrow in pic below) was being blocked by that wiring that i moved. so, i simply took a hack-saw and cut out a ~ 3-inch hole in that plastic piece, and then the seat popped right on. wires out of sight.
this is very simple and i'm sure there's a way to do this without any cutting, but i need a lot of hand-holding and in all my searching on here didn't see a lot of specific guidance on re-routing wires. thought i'd post it for other amateurs like me.

PS - obviously that prevents me from using the under-seat storage, but i never use it anyway
