So because of Hurricane Ike and the potential for it to curve north towards Houston, my office is potentially sending me and some folks to Austin for "business continuity" reasons.  I will find out here in the next 30 minutes or so for sure but if I'm there, I will try and swing by Ming's to meet you ATX folks.  What time do you guys meet up and is anyone going to be there tonight?

I will be buggin' out of Corpus Christi tomorrow morning and heading up to Austin w/ wife & cat (in my wife's station wagon) and staying at my mom's on the north side. Sorry to say, it looks like wherever the storm comes ashore (somewhere between CC and Galveston), it will be following us up and giving Central Texas a drenching. Let me know if any of you guys are getting together for hurricane party or whatever.

Since my move down to Texas 6 years ago, I don't recall having this many consecutive hurricanes.   Angry

Is Mother Nature angry with us southern people?  I have not heard any earthquakes in California in a long time, but again those Californians pamper the environment more than we do  Grin

We better  get on the bus and start caring about our environment.  Start recycling your waste  waytogo

Well, no response from Austinites... I have to go to a meeting in a bit and won't be able to check this again until way later.  I guess no Ming's run for me.  Boo.  Bullet Boy, I'm here at least through Friday.  If work allows some free time, I'll see if maybe we can meet up for a drink or something.  Maybe the Austin folks will read this by then!

They're like love - they come in spurts!

latest forecast as of 8am has the storm shifted far enuff north that we will likely not evacuate CC, sustained winds predicted in the 30's mph. However, Houston is likely to see Cat 2 winds - batten down the hatches!
