Any tips on removing a windscreen?

I don't want to break the bolts. But trying to remove the windscreen has been a real pregnant dog. Someone mentioned lifting the gauges.  ??? I don't see the connection. BTW it's a '98 M900.

I know with mine I had to remove the Gauges to get to the Left bolt. Once I removed both bolts the screen came right off.

Not sure how you would break the bolts.  Just make sure your wrench (s) don't slip.

I was able to get mine out without shifting the Speedo/Tach, but I couldn't replace them without doing so.

are you using loosey keys or the ones that are swiss army knifed into a metal handle with soething like 16 keys? i can remove mine in less than 30 seconds.  ???

I just took mine off a few hours ago. Same pain in rear. I ended up taking the headlight off and going in from the bottom.

Yes, big pain in the ass taking it off.  [bang] But it can be done without removing the gauge. It's a tight fit on both sides. The right was a little easier. I used an open ended wrench. You have to be creative and try all angles to get at the bolt, I even ended up turning one bolt with the open end wrench right on top (twisting the wrench like a screw driver).
