I'm not sure what I can do from Dallas, but if there's anything you guys need don't hesitate to ask.

I wouldn't be opposed to going down there and dropping water/food/whatever

Thanks for the concern Bryan. We have a huge need for clean up and ice. I've got my dad coming in on Thursday with a couple of chain saws so we can help out the locals get large branches and trees out of their yards and streets.

If anyone is interested, we can organize a clean-up crew to assist people get their property back in order. Post up if you're interested or call me and we can get a list going. I have power and water at my home so I'll be happy to make this the jump off point, even feed you some samiches and 'tater chips.  Wink   Obviously Alvin has posted his area is in need of help, anyone else with a need please post up and we can make arrangements to form a plan of attack.  waytogo

Joe if you say the word, I might be able to get there on Sat w/ a few chainsaws and coolers of ice.  I might be able to convince a few of the Dallas folks to lend a hand

That's awesome Bryan. The damage is so extensive I don't even know where to or who to start with. As mentioned before, my home is relatively fine. Others aren't so lucky.

My fear in having you come down here is that you won't find gas to get back home. The little I drove around today has me realizing that it may continue to get worse before getting better. The lines at gas stations are utterly ridiculous. People for the most part look calm but I wouldn't doubt some are at the edge, ready to crack at any minute. If others need help I will post up and maybe if need be we can get a DML help crew together. I'd like to help the board members first before helping strangers but if no one voices a need then I may just sign up with the local Red Cross and county leaders.

Stay tuned.

The gas issue is really bad in town because power has yet to be restored.  The gas station on Richmond/Shepherd probably at least 20 cars (counted 6 blocks!) lining up for gas.  I thikn some gas station go their power back recently, so more will be opening up.

If you guys are willing to help, I know San Leon (near clear lake) got hit bad.  I'm heading down there to help on Thurs/Fri.

i'm alive  waytogo

jimmy, what's the date on that event?   I've got a good friend who lives in CC and I'll pass the word along to him to go check it out

I've been out and about helping out where I can.  My new house got water inside, but it doesn't have anything inside, no floors or anything, so it looks like the baseboards will be the only things that need to be replaced (hopefully).  My rents' house also was relatively unharmed, fences down, a few shingles from the roof, but no water damage.

My parents' restaurant got broken into saturday night, but we were able to open and start selling food sunday night when we got power.

If anyone is in need of some food, please let me know!  If you can get together with me and head over to the restaurant with me or when I'm there (won't be there purposefully for any length of time now, but you never know), then i can get you some great fried shrimp and burgers, just let me know.

Damn dude, sorry to hear about your parents restaurant. Things like this really put a damper on my faith in humanity.

Bummer about your new place as well. How does this affect your moving in schedule? is the construction company trying to screw you over?

Manana, the 19th, between approx. 5p-9p...

I feel kinda' guilty having a big party while you guys are suffering so. Well, it'll be our turn soon enuff, no doubt. If anyone needs to get away for a few days to Corpus, where we have electricity and running water, let me know, maybe we can work something out - Good Luck!
