Not to minimize the coolness of the pics, but.....

WHAT ABOUT RIDING THE TRACK?  Grin

Edit: the pics over on Soup from Nelson & Nelson are really cool... I want to see the other 900 that they took.

Well thanks for warning me, Pakhan and I rode around like maniacs to get back to the shitty motel. The motel was only about a mile and a half away and it took 25 miles to get there. Every road that his GPS suggested was blocked off in just about every case.  bang head

At least we got to see some of Indianapolis  Grin

Great seeing so many DMFers there, was a fun race but wish it didn't have to be called.  Next year........ waytogo

Riding a lap was very cool. It would have been even better without a tank bag and tail bag.

It is amazing, how fast things happen on it even at the 25-50mph I was doing.  The braking markers must move at light speed for the pros.  The surface was very smooth, and I didn't feel any major transitions between parts of the track.  The correct lines though could have been confusing for the riders.  Even with IMS workers pointing the way to go, there were so many alternate routes (oval versus road turns, pit lanes, maintenance lanes, track entrances and exits, etc) near the turns, that it would have been easy to go off course or focus on the wrong line.

Nick and I camped just off the track, and I really think that's the way to do it. It was about a 30-40 minute walk from our site to our seats in Mugello, but we never had to deal with any traffic, and we could get as drunk as we wanted without the worry of having to drive back to the hotel.

It will take an act of god to keep me away next year, the whole trip was absolutely amazing, and Karma treated us very, very, very, very well.

Which lot were you in?  We were in 4 - which was awesome, just at the opposite end of the track from the Mugello stand.

I apologize for the delay in posting these up.. i'd like to extend a big thank you to the Hoosier Hooligans for their hospitality. It was a pleasure getting to meet everyone from the board.

Overall, I had a great time.  Mario did a great job with the Project Mugello and HH crowd.

Nutts was in the Project Mugello stands near the ducati island side, about 3/4 of the way up.

Check out the Indy coverage in the latest RoadRacingWorld. It's got a picture of several Monsters in the lot, some having been knocked over by wind.
