Heh Spanish seem to be ok with the smaller bikes but dont nseem to cope too well in the premier class (Doohan and Wasshisname springs to mind??)
Size of bike equals size of weenie??
Emotionally fragile, unstable lot, and are fine when their background (ethnically and sponsors) spoon feed the prima dona's, but when it comes down to some hard application and determination (particularly emotionally) they crash and burn.
And the nips are pandering to it !! (Screw the ability, SHOW ME THE MONEEEEEYYYY!!)

...hmmm, I can't predict who's going where.
BUT!!! I bet Ducati are kicking themselves for letting Loris go!... seriously. If any one knew how to ride these bucking Dukes it's him! - Chris

err, no.
loris couldn't get to grips with the electronics package and just like melandri he floundered. his exceptional talent kept him midfield not the back, but his old school (and he is the most experienced rider in the paddock) style wouldn't work. melandri is younger and should have done better given his ability but i'm guessing he expected it to be easier than it was, cause the desmosedici was obviously capable!
and i agree with dragonworld on the primadonna spaniards, ruben xaus is the only spanish rider i rate at all. the rest are either over the top hambones like gibernau or moody sulking tryhards like pedrosa. speaking of pedrosa, those bridgestones made a huge difference to his finishing position

fair enough, but I don't agree. Loris won races on that Duke and now its a better bike with better electronics that took Casey & team (basically on their own) time to develop and sort out. With the help of Loris, this in my opinion would have happened quicker.
If you were team manager, what would you rather consistent mid pack and the odd win, or consistantly at the back... (ie Loris Vs Melandri?) Don't forget that this would have ment faster bike development, more team points, thus probably 2nd in constructors, 2nd in team, not 3rd... - Chris
ps, regardless I do see your point though.

agree with that for sure, capirossi would have helped development with stoner better than melandri has, no question in my mind. Loris had the measure of the 990 and the change to the 800 with the new electronics all at the same time overwhelmed him a bit i reckon, but sure he would have finished higher up the order and brought more team and constructors points. why didn't they just stay with the 990? the 800 was faster on debut anyway!

YUP! bang on the money paul! I still don't know what MotoGp & their governing bodies were thinking that making the bike smaller in CC's would slow them down. Their going to go faster regardless, the competition and need to win will always push that. F1 has been teaching us that for years!... still. Im sure it was done for a reason. - Chris
