Toasty.... a retrospective or,The Audacity of Toast.

See'n how Toasty has been around the block a few times (and is still go'n), I thought it might be fun, if we shared Toasty with the great unwashed.

I, like many of you look forward to reading mostrobelle's (Heather) stories, and thought it would be fun if she would write a story about Toasty and his travels, and submit it to some of the big bike rags, to see if one of them would put it to print.

So..... I asked her if she would be interested in the idea..... I think I have her suckered in 

What I/we/she needs is..... any pics and back stories (with time frame) you may have in regards to your time with Toasty.

Then...... she can add her poetic spin to it.

so..... please use this thread to post pics and any story you may have. It would be awesome if Toasty and or Toastys book could make it into Heather hands. (see'n the tigers whisker Michelle added to the book, not mention all the fun things people have written in it, would just add to the stories flavor)

For those that dont know..... the idea of Toasty was born in the aisles of a Target store in Bakersfield, by combining the fun associated with roaming gnomes, and ductapes goof on giving people toasters as gifts for high post counts at TOB.

Toasty is a simple red Oster Toaster, that has had the Ducati Monster logo etched into it's base coat on both sides. I also attached a lil black book for people to sign when they recieve Toasty.

The original idea, was for Toasty (or The Red Metal Wind, as he has been refer to as), to be passed amongst friends and fellow monster owners. (a catalyst for bringing people together, if you will)

Ahh, Toasty, I know you well, for I was the one to free Toasty from the clutches of the MOB and other California crews.  I liberated Toasty from the one legged Crowbar, and sent Toasty about the U.S.

 

I've been in the presence of Toasty 3 times:

1: When Toasty was liberated from California, and visited Portland, and other areas in Oregon

2: When Toasty went to Laguna Seca in 2006 for the MotoGP. 

3:  At DitR, Ouray CO, in 2007.

I know when I read the book I almost pissed myself I was laughing so hard. It's truely epic!

When I had my hands on toasty I wanted to take him into work and snap photos of him with the satellites. At which point I recalled they'd jail me for that. Pooh.
