This morning I woke up and really wanted to ride to work, but I had woken up late and it was pretty chilly out to start the day. It was at Tony's house and would need to be warmed up, and I didn't want to be late as my supervisor has been a timeclock nazi lately.

As I sat at my desk all I could think about was my bike, so after agonizing over whether I wanted my first completely solo ride to be in lunchtime madness, I decided to buzz out of work around 11:30 to get it before the lunch crowd really hit the roads.

I was so freakin nervous! There is construction everywhere right now and lots of lights and a couple of weird intersections and potholes between T's house and my office. I hadn't ridden in town yet with Tony, nevermind by myself. Can't avoid it forever, right?

Needless to say I made it in one piece, and I'm working a bit late so I'll be riding home after rush hour. I had to stop at a corner where like 5 young construction guys were working on the pavement. And I had my clear shield on so there was no where to hide  laughingdp "Don't drop it, don't do something stupid!" Phew!

I lucked out on a parking spot at work too; there were 3 consecutive spaces open right at the end of the lot so I rolled right in and hardly had to adjust the bike in my space. Now I'm pointed the right way to just roll off on my merry way later  Grin

Yay!

Yesterday T and I rode about 80 miles round trip to go see a friend. I passed cars for the first time (kinda scary) and was cruising the curvy back roads at about 65-70. It was awesome! No one likes square tires, right?
