hello,

i just picked my 1st duc, an S4 Foggy. i'm really digging this bike but of course i'm looking to change a couple of tings...

i've been doing a little research and it seems the DP Gel seat seems to be the most comfy. can someone please post a pic of their's on the bike. i don't think i've noticed anyone having one. looks a bit puffy but i haven't seen it on a bike so it may just be an illusion.

the sargent looks like good quality and looks good. but how's the comfort compared to stock? noticeable and worth the cash?

and how about the corbin's. they look nice but from my experience, they're a bit better than the stock seat i had on one a beemer but it was also a bit hard. comfy but hard at the same time.

please share some photos if you can.

thanks,

russ

I have had the sargent seat on both my monsters and definitely recommend it.

It is fine for 300 mile rides and I love the under-seat beer holder.  Also dig the italian flag decal - stylin'  wt:

It is substantially wider than the stock or DP seats though, so you probably wouldn't take it over those to the track, and I hear the DP seat is plenty comfy as well.

I'd post a pic or two but there doesn't seem to be any way to upload them.... am I missing something?

I just got a DP this week. I wouldn't describe it as puffy. The gel section is raised a tad and there's a slight cushiony section on the backrest(?) but that's all as it should be imo.

You have to use a photo hosting site, then link to your pics.

Now on topic here's a pic of my bike with the DP seat

Cheers

The seat is great.  Doesn't slope as much as the stock one towards the tank (a lot fewer ball bustin stops).  The seat is more comfortable and actually is rather flat not puffy.  the only downside is leaving it out under the sun in summer.  That gel will fry your ass real good if you don't cover it or park in the shade (been there done that.  Once it happens one time and you ride home standing or sitting on the rear cowl you'll never forget again. LOL.

I've got one of these on order but you know how that goes. If there aren't pics up here yet by the time I get mine, I'll post up. I need to take some updated pics of the beast anyway...

I'm not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example!

I've riden over 8k with mine now.  Aside from turning your ass into bacon if you forget to cover it the seat is the cats meow.  From a styling standpoint it's flat black, but the stitching and more angular profile is pretty nice.  the rear of the seat actually squares up a little which meets the cowling nicely.

I thought the same thing when i was warned prepurchase.

To get an idea take a gel heating pad microwave it for 3 mins then sit on it.

I've had gel in some of my other seats. I only see it being a prob if you are wearing jeans or similar material to ride in. I've never had a problem with full or 2-piece leathers. I guess I'm gonna find out...
