Okay the DMF MTB ride is back on..........

It is all fire trail with NO big hills. We ride out to a lookout on the cliff top over looking Berowa waters for a picnic and then ride back. 3 hours ish and suitable for all fitness levels.

Map will be provided closer to the day....

Betty the Jukie steed is still awaiting her return....  [moto]

So who's in?Huh?

Admittedly, I can only manage the 2nd half of Jan, but ...oh and when is WSBK ? it's THAT weekend, oh F*&$ iT ! Can't make it.

Weekends of Jan 16th/17th or 23rd/24th or 30th/31st not possible ?

March 6th/7th ?  Grin 2011 ?

BUMP !!!

Now, I'm thinking of getting some new shoes and pedals - any suggestions from the ever so clever DMFers - this place is so much make the beast with two backsin better than Wikipedia!  Any good shop suggestions too ?

Also, I don't think this ride ever got going did it ?? So I want to suggest a ride sometime in mid/late January(when I'm back from leave). Any takers ?

I really like Time, but they have float which is the ability for your feet to move around a bit (lateral and angular), good for some and others need a more rigid pedal...the mud clearing has always been amazing and engagement is precise and quick. Highly recommended.

shoes: no one can help as feet are individual, I can only say that Sidi make a very good quality shoe and would suggest saving some funds for better insoles in most cycling shoes (cause they are crap)

Ditto Spiders comments on TIME pedals.

I'm a huge TIME fan as well. All I use are the the ATAC XS Carbon pedals on all my MTBs. Even more highly recommended...  waytogo

Get them from http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=4735 (Half the price you'll pay in AUS)

And agree with shoes. Really need to try shoes on as different brands can be sized differently and feel quite different. And of course the $$$$ can vary greatly.

I have some Scott and Specialized shoes and both fit me beautifully.

Happy hunting......

I'll be in for any of those dates.
Big - Are you talking about the Long and Perimeter trail?

The Wife and I did rode that today for the first time. It was 22k return and low level fitness required and no technical stuff which is good for her. The view at the end was magic. Amazing opportunity for a group photo Matty.
