Anyone have a Monster Tank for sale??

Mines screwed. Im looking for a tank in good shape that would fit a 2002 M750. Preferably black, or matte black will will consider Red as well. Found out underneath the bubbles in my paint job there are dents in the tank and the tank is slowly leaking out gas which is causing the current paint job to bubble up, the small bubbles joined and turned into one big bubble this last week and burst today and thats when i found all the nice bondo work, dents ect. that the previous scum bag/seller had done and forgot to inform me on.
Oh well, i like this bike its been good to me, i just need a new tank. I think since the tank needs so much work im wondering if its not worth it money wise to have it fixed. Ducpainter does an awesome job ive heard, but not sure i want to pay around 600 bucks to fix it/paint it and in the end its a tank that has POR15 inside it to keep it from leaking. I know new they are about double that, so if i cant find one to buy in good shape i will have to fork up the dough. just trying to look at all my options.
anyways let me know at
dave_spencer2@hotmail.com
if anyone has a tank for sale.
on a side note, anyone have any experience with insurance companies? what happens if i claim it? Can i claim it? Is it worth it?

You can download the parts manual here:
http://www.ducati.com/en/bikes/service/parts/2007.jhtml?family=parts
for your Monster, then check the part number of the tank on your bike with the part number of the tank you're looking to buy. If they're the same number, it will fit. My current tank is off of a S4 but it had the same part number on both bikes, so it fits.

Are you sure its leaking gas?
If its
not
leaking gas, and it will fit my 2000 900S (why do have this feeling it won't....), I might take it off you hands. Not sure how one prices a toasted tank...
I have always wanted to try my hand at painting a tank.

Im not sure if its leaking, i tried smelling that area again and i think the gas smell is in my head, i dont smell it now.
Now that i think about it, the bondo is what bubbled up. The paint just came up with it. Under the bubble was bare metal, its not like the paint bubbled up and when i looked in the bubble there was the bondo still against the tank. I just read up on bad bondo jobs, i believe this is what happened. They did no prep work on the tank where the bondo went on, and they put it on real thick. They didnt fill in the hole that is left in the tank with anything, just put bondo right over the top. Ive been reading that bondo will bubble if applied wrong, if mixed wrong, if moisture is allowed to get in, ect. ect. im just gonna have to get some proper filler for the small hole, or weld it, then buy some good brand bondo and re do the whole thing, then repaint and take it down to a body shop to have them clear coat it for me. Im pretty good at paint jobs, i use to sand, and paint alot when i made drums. I know the hardest part is just geting a good clear coat on. That i will leave to the pro's, body shop will usually clear coat a tank for sixty bucks. Well i know what ill be doing this winter....bought time for a color change too.
