ok guys, its been a long few days.

Hard to believe Cierra's water broke Saturday night/Sunday morning at about 1:30, and we still managed to get married Sunday morning.  She didn't start getting contractions till about 3AM Monday morning.  They progressed throughout the day, and mid to late afternoon they became for consistent.  We headed into the birthing center at 6PM and settled in.  About 7 to 7:30 we started getting ready and got in the tub.  Less then 4 hours later little Rowan showed his face.

Cierra is an amazing woman, she handled this with flying colors.  I can't even begin to describe the strength she has.  The delivery was surprisingly fast for a first time mother, and it was completely clean (no blood).  The midwifes all commented on how "picture perfect" this delivery was.  For reference, another couple there was in 56 hours of labor, and had difficulties (the baby was to big for her).  They are ok, and they had a healthy baby girl, but they had been there 2 days longer then  us in active labor.  Wow!  We felt kind of bad talking with them about our 4 hour labor.  Smiley

Jed and Liza along with Cierra's mom were there for us.  It was really nice to have this birth with only family, and some of our friends there with us.

We are home now, so if you are interested in stopping by, please just give us a call and make sure Cierra isnt running around naked trying to toss a boob into the kids mouth.  Smiley

Anyways, here is what you all have been waiting for, some peectures.

Rowan after he just came out.

We hung out in the tub for about an hour after he was born, waiting on the placenta to come out and for him to finish circulating its blood.

Me and Rowan in bed.

Another family shot.

laughingdp  I would imagine it's been a very long last few days!

Only 4 hrs of active labor?  From what I've heard other moms say, that's pretty amazing for a first child...

Congrats again on the brand-new Miller family!  applause  Can't wait to see the new little one!

Thanks guys!

The first night we were amazed at how much Rowan slept, and how quiet he was.  I was beginning to think we had some miracle baby who didnt cry.  WRONG.  Smiley  You see, the first day he didn't know what hunger felt like, he was never hungry before, well day two, he started getting hungry, and the second night was really painful.  We were up most of the night last night trying to get him to feed, but thats not something he really knows how to do yet.  He is learning just like we are how to breastfeed.  Its funny, he knows where the milk comes from, he can smell it, but he has no real idea how to make it work.  Smiley

Anyways, its been awesome, and a huge learning experience for us all.

in fact...
