Isn't there someone we could blame, just alittle.  ;D

live and learn...

It really has nothing to do with the fact that it's a virtual server, Derby just doesn't like the terminology.  The main problem is the way that our particular host handles virtual servers and more than that the amount of resources available to said server and the host's inability to modify that.

Anywho, for an update...

Nate has secured the new, better server and the process is already in motion.  It's likely the board will be down for a few hours late tonight.  I'll put an announcement up before it does go down, but just thought y'all would like to know.

AWESOME!!!!!!! Please know we really appreciate all your efforts.
I have no idea how complicated the forum is to maintain, but I do know I'd be lost without it ;D

Thanks [thumbsup]

actually, i love virtual servers. in fact, i'm a huge proponent of virtualization in the datacenter. you should see what i've been working on at work for the last few years.  :P

I also appreciate  all the hard work you and others have done for this site. Beers are owed.... [thumbsup] "Waytogo" its a new word

We're now on the new server, but we're not out of the woods yet.  We shouldn't see the same kind of resource shortages that resulted in the unavailability of the site and the slow responses, but we have a couple major bugs we're still trying to iron out.  Please be patient, we're working our hardest to get things running smoothly for everyone.

I can tell that the server is MUCH faster now today!  Every page loads much more responsively.  Of course, it's not having to load all the sidebar stuff, but that's just text anyway so it shouldn't make much difference.

You guys are doing a great job!

That will be remedied tonight we hope.

For some reason a test install on Daryls' personal shared server worked perfectly for everything...

The install on our dedicated server doesn't.

We're not certain why, but Daryl has a plan and even if it doesn't work we'll know where to look for the problem.

It will all work out.

Thanks for being patient.

anyway you can send an email to everyone letting them know you are back up and running at full speed?
I have seen significant drop in activity and am concerned people departed to other fields thinking you guys were gonna die.

Not a bad idea....

trying to post was getting frustrating.

When daryl gets back from the track we can talk about it.

Thanks.
