I've got a few ideas, but as we all know, space is at a premium on the Monster.

How and where did you mount your HID Igniter & Ballast?

I had a built in ignigter, and my ballast was the size of a rather large can of tuna, it was made for a car so the length of the wire was pretty short. It sat ontop of the air filter with zip ties lol.

then one of them blew up and caught fire while i was trying to remove it. Sad

I had some serious sparks coming from mine due to a wire that broke apart within the insulation--but DarkStaR was there to witness that!

Had the day off, so just made it up as I went:

Made an Al plate to mount the ballast to the air box.  Used the 2 empty screw holes on the right side of the bike to mount the plate.
Need to find allen screws to replace the phlilips heads.  Undecided

I used rubber feet (from speaker stands) to level the ballast plate on the left side of the bike, and mounted the igniter to the underside of the frame rail.

nice job! that throttle cable looks like its really tight though!
which HID kit did you get and how does it look?

i want to get a nicer one this time, but the glare and lack of a cut of makes the thing almost useless.

I think He Man is referring to the "cut off" that you get with a projector beam headlight housing.

...but He Man, you're also running dual headlights, right?  Not the OEM light?

Can you even get that kind of cutoff without a projector?

you cant get a cut off period without a projector. your thing is just a glob of light. the top may be some sort of cut off, but the side glare is disgusting. its the main reason why i hate riding in nyc, everyone's retrofit hid kit glares of almost 180 degrees.

but if you dont ride around high traffic areas, im sure you could get away with cutting a soda can into a nice housing and get rid of a good amount of it.

DS and I actually split a car kit from DDM Tuning.  The bulb already has this half moon shaped "shield" around it, but the way the bulb has to go makes that half moon shape deflect light straight up.  Which way would it ideally face to get rid of the most glare?
