Ramming speed...

« on: October 08, 2008, 05:14:10 AM »

"Dani Pedrosa's manager Alberto Puig has launched a stinging attack on the Spaniard's departing Repsol Honda team-mate Nicky Hayden - saying that the American used to 'copy' Pedrosa's settings because he can't set-up a bike himself, was never a rival to Pedrosa and is a 'hypocrite' for claiming that he doesn't have a problem with Dani."

Even if you assume all of that is completely true, at least have the decency to wait until the season is over before you pick a fight with your protégé's teammate.  Nicky could probably still kick Puig in the head through that damn divider, and I hope he does as soon as the last round it over.

Wow! What a supreme ass.

If Dani doesn't deliver the goods next year, Honda will drop him like a hot dog turd and move on to their next prospect. THAT's how "loyal" they are.

he'll have someone to blame when Dani doesn't deliver and he's looking for work. Wink

Maybe that will be Nickys' fault too.

well...lets see for a minute..even if Nicky did copy Dani's settings...Dani crashed out last round and Nicky was where?...and in the second half of the season Nicky has finished where in comparo to Dani?...

Dani just hasn't been the same since his crash in the rain in Germany and Nicky has finally started getting parts and chassis's and so forth that he can work with on a bike that wasn't designed for him in the 1st place and he is getting better as the season progresses to the end here....Puig is just trying to smoke screen this whole thing to take the spotlight off of Dani after he stuck his foot in his mouth to get himself on Bridgestones since Nicky is leaving and Nicky has done nothing out of line to bash anyone when he totally and wholly has the right to do so...shows how classy he is in comparo to his counterparts!

Gee, thanks for the settings and parts during 2006 Dani. We always knew you'd put Nicky over the top Tongue

Yeah...The Midget and his manager are whiny little pregnant doges.

that whole copied settings thing is particularly funny.. so they roll out the '07 bike and nicky's first reaction is, "are they kidding?"  it looks like a pit bike.  or something that would fit dani.  same ground-up 100% brand new bike, same tires, same garage.  yeah, they'll probably talk about baseline settings.

but if you watch they way each guy rides, and listen to nicky's greatly differing view on TC, it's pretty obvious that they bikes are nowhere near set up the same.  pete benson has said the same thing.

who has the better record lately?  who did all that testing while someone else sat, injured?

whatever.  par for the course with Puig.

Yeah, Puig/Pedrosa aren't going anywhere.  Puig is in REALLY good with Repsol and since they write the big checks every years, he'll be there.  And frankly, he deserves to be.  I don't like him much as a human (and Puig even less), but he gets results.  He's a very talented rider/racer and he has a legitimate shot at the title the next few years, HRC would be stupid to get rid of him (unless they can somehow manage to get Lorenzo).

Seeing as Hayden's only about 40 pounds heavier than Pedrosa, I'm sure Dani's settings would work perfectly.  Roll Eyes

Next thing we'll be hearing is that Hayden was secretly switching his bodywork onto Dani's bikes.

Possibly, but given the "loyalty" of Honda and Repsol I can think of 3 Spanish riders who have to be making Pedrobot nervous;
Lorenzo, Bautista and Barbera.

I'll bet here and now that if Dani isn't in the top 3 next year then he's gone... or at the very least riding the "B" bike. Evil

No, but he was secretly farting in Dani's helmet Grin

With such a great attitude like that from Puig -- it makes me want to run over to the local Honda store and buy a Repsol branded Honda.... NOT!

I'd love to see the cool t-shirts and animated figures that would appear if Hayden on a Ducati beats Pedrosa/Puig...
