Alberto Puig WTF?

I couldn't believe that when it popped up this morning, and I'm glad Nicky is going to be riding bike proven to kick ass next year.  Pedrosa and Puig can suck it.

I'd love to see a nice mid-season shunt between the two, where Dani tries the same pass as 2006.  Only this time maybe Nicky would just kick Pedrosa's whiny ass in the gravel trap and get back in the race!

For the record, I'm not a fan of Pedrobot nor do I like Puig at all.  That being said:

Hayden sure is getting a lot of love lately with everyone assuming he's going to get on the Ducati and start winning races.  Hayden never did win many races... even during his championship season.  He's consistant, but not a race winner per se.  Injuries aside, Pedrosa is a much better rider than Nicky in general and on most days will smoke his ass.  Don't let the love affair with the good ol' boy cloud your vision of what's really going on in motogp.  GP is really just a three to five horse race, and I'm not sure Nicky fits in that allotment of riders.  Rossi, Stoner, Pedro, Lorenzo, and the outside looking in will most likely be Hayden or Dovi.

I think Nicky will do well next year, but I don't expect him to start running circles around Pedro, or any other front runner either.  Puig ran his mouth, but unfortunately most of it is probably true.  Hayden isn't a rival of Dani, b/c he IS always behind, neither is he a rival of any of the front runners at this point and time.

I don't agree with the whole setting up the bike crap, but I do assume he uses Dani's bike for data reference ( or did before the split ).  Anyway, my 2cp for now.

i also can't wait to see him on the duc.  i think it's a great move for both parties, and i hope everyone's assumption about the rideability of that bike complimenting nicky's style/background is correct.  but let's not forget that in the 800cc era, so far 1 in 7 riders who have tried can ride that thing worth a crap.  or maybe 1.3 if you give elias a little bit of recent credit.  point is, with an 86% FAIL rate, the odds are against nicky.

I'm glad Nicky is leaving Honda for whatever reason. Wish he had done it a long time ago.

He is a good man and I have high hopes for him on the Ducati next year.

Yeah, Puig/Pedrosa aren't going anywhere.  Puig is in REALLY good with Repsol and since they write the big checks every years, he'll be there.  And frankly, he deserves to be.  I don't like him much as a human (and Puig even less), but he gets results.  He's a very talented rider/racer and he has a legitimate shot at the title the next few years, HRC would be stupid to get rid of him (unless they can somehow manage to get Lorenzo).

I totally agree. Irregardless of attitude and statements, Dani is a fantastic rider and I'm sure Repsol loves having him on board. Notice the number of runaway wins he's had? Earlier, I actually expected him to win the championship before Hayden or Stoner. I know that may be blasphemy on this board, but face it, the dude can ride.

i don't think anyone doubts he's faster than flaming goose poop.  his racecraft is a little meh.. but it's getting better.  i don't really even mind (or care about, more like) his apparent/alleged attitude.  but he certainly doesn't seem to be out to Win Friends and Influence People.

Puig's main contribution to MGP will always be comic relief. 

No champions, just a good laugh now and then.

He's not an idiot, he just suffers from lack of oxygen due to having his sphincter so tight around his neck.

That is true, BUT the one thing I'm hoping for is that when you watch stoner ride the bike is just all over the place and he is comfortable with that, and I don't think most other riders are fine with that. Nicky and Casey both come from a dirt track background and maybe that is why stoner is so quick on the bike and HOPEFULLY why Nicky will be that fast too.....
