Howdy guys (and gals),

I've been a member of the old board for over four years and have been hanging with the NMMR crew for the last two, but I find myself being transferred to beautiful Honolulu!  I will be there in August and cant wait to meet the local crew and get some rides in.  I'm hoping that there are some nice rides on Oahu that dont involve dodging tourists! wt:

I hope you like hundreds of miles of perfectly paved twisties.  Or, I hope you have liked.  That way you'll have fond memories while punting around our little rock. wt:

So true, so true.  There are a few nice roads here, but you see them all pretty quick.

Is it possible to load the bike on a ferry and hit some of the other islands?  My dad lives in Kona, so that would be pretty cool to be able to ride there

So far, the ferry only goes to Maui.  We are half-planning a volcano run up Haleakala sometime.  Hawaii SHOULD be the next stop, but I don't know when yet.  There are other options, but they involve not having the bike for a little while.

Stand-up paddling. with an extra board for the bike.  A real man would do it.  wt:

Or make a hybrid motorcycle/wet bike.  Rig up some paddles to the rear tire and some floats to the front wheel and your feet.

Okay:

Ride up the side of Diamond Head REAL fast, and jump to Maui.  Then ride up Haleakala REAL REAL fast and jump to La Isla Grande.

It's so obvious.    wt:

Brilliant!!  But first, sneak onto Pearl Harbor, requisition a few motors from the fleet SAM depot and rig up a rocket assist on the bike!
