Anyone have any experience with Akuma helmets?  It's coming up on time for a new lid, and i like the idea of having LEDs for extra visibility.  Anyone with FHE?

www.akumahelmets.com

Thanks in advance.

What's up jack? I'm kinda interested in these too. I like the T.O.D. visor set up and the red visor is kinda cool too...

hey skurvy, just thinking it's time to get a new lid and looking for something different.  The LEDs (and Gator Glass when it comes out) would be great for visibility, but not sure how they fit, safety, etc.

The TOD looks pretty cool too, they supposedly have a photochromatic visor too.

Somewhere on the Akuma site is a youtube Helmet Harbor review.  They said they like it, it's a good helmet, but loud.  And the lights on the back, really aren't bright enough to be considered a "safety feature".

i like the idea of having LEDs for extra visibility.

Another option would be to install one of these on top of your helmet:
http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/helmets/hjc/windlight_led_helmet_light.html

The cost is cheap enough to pair it with your existing helmet, or on another helmet of your choosing.

The drawbacks are that it seems bulky, it's available in only two colors, and it only works above 25mph.
But for visibility/safety purposes, I would figure it does as much good as the Akuma LED's (which to say, is not alot).
