so I got this bike and it's new to me.  I've been looking at pics on the this forum and finding lot's of guys chopping the rear end where the licensce plast goes.  It looks great doing this, so I know in the near future I will be doing this.

but also wanted to mount exhause under the seat like on the 916, so I was curious to know if anyone out there has done this witht their monster.  If so, what did it take or did you buy a kit or so, and how much work did you have to put in it.

Although the exhaust looks great tucked under the seat...there just isn't enough room there for the mufflers and for the tire under full suspension compression.  Therefore, there is no 'kit' available.  I've seen some people do custom fab work to put a very slender can between the framerails with the exit where the stock taillight used to be and then mount that somewhere else....

Basically, it can't be done practically but could be done.

Good luck w/the new bike and ride safe!

I think many people that do that use an integrated tail light like this: http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/CTL-0023-1-IT/Electrical/CTL-0023-1-IT.html
