Hello, I'm a 22yo swedish guy that needs help to find some stuff for my bike. It's a Monster 600 from 98.
This is my first bike ever and I recently bought it, very happy with.

I want a Single sided swingarm, and I want to know where I can find a matching one.
And new rims aswell.

I want a new type of exhaust system, something that goes under the engine (almost like Celli's)
But chromish looking.

Also I want a new headlight. I like this one most of all ive found, but perhaps ive missed one, and any tips would be nice.

Been browsing around in this forums to look after exhaust and sidearms, but I can't find where to buy.
I'm also looking for used items, don't need to be brand new, to save some money.

Thanks /Markus

Hey Markus, I believe converting a DSS to a SSS is a bit of a big undertaking. You know that right?

Paradisecity had his 695 converted to a SSS I believe. I think a couple other people have as well. Just wanna make sure you know whats involved with doing that.

DSS = double sided swing arm

SSS = single sided swing arm

Good luck! I'm sure someone will post up with some ideas on where to get the stuff you're lookin for. waytogo

Converting a 98 to a single swing arm is going to take A LOT of work.  The newer bikes (2001-2008 - excluding the 696) have a some significant differences in the swing arms and rear suspension set up that make conversion a lot more simple.  TO convert your bike, you'd be looking at re-jiggering the suspension.. which might not be a good plan.  Also you'd need a different rear wheel and rear brake set up.

For under the engine - there do exist aluminum fairing pieces.  I don't think any are still in production though.  Ducati Performance (DP) sold some as well as RoadRacing.  RoadRacing isn't even in business anymore.

Wheels - that's not such a big deal.  Just find some that are compatible with the speedometer drive and then you will need the appropriate sized wheel bearings and spacer.  But if you are dead set on a Single swing arm - remember that a rear wheel that fits a dual spar swing arm will NOT fit a single.

I think you are better off selling your bike (before you dump too much cash into it) and buying a SSS bike.
Just my opinion...

Not quite the same model, but I've got an Acerbis Cyclops and I'll work with you on the shipping.

As for the exhaust, the Quat-D ExBox is pretty cool, but kinda pricey. Its available for both single and dual sided swingarms. If you do go through with the swingarm replacement, you'll also have another option.

yuu is right, there's gonna be a TON (metric or SAE, your choice) of work to make a SSS fit an older bike, but that'll just make it that much more "yours."

Thanks for all the tips. Ive put some tought into it and it seems like it's not gonna be worth all the work with the swingarm.

Selling it and buying a SSS bike from the start is probably the best thing to do.
Lets just hope I can sell it for the same amount I bought it so I don't loose to much cash.

Noticed I want a 1000c instead of the 600 anyway so. Well, beginners mistake  Tongue
Any suggestions wich I should get?

Well take a year- ride the 600 and build your skills.  It'll serve you well.  Also the good thing about those bikes is that the price on them is pretty fixed at this point. So you should be able to get back all or most of what you paid.  Do maintenance  and save the mods (and that cost) for a bike you'll keep longer.

Well, if you want a 1000cc monster with a single sided swing arm - you really only have three choices.  An S2R1000, one of the S4R or now the Monster1100.  Basically, 1 2v 'classic look' 1 4v 'classic look' and a 2v 'new look'

What yuu said. Keep that 600 for a good long while, ESPECIALLY since you're a new rider.

If you want a SSS later, there are options. Used S2R 800s (which I have, awesome bike), S2R 1000s, the S4R, and the new 1100.

But please, you're a new rider, stick with the 600 for a while. Build your skills before you move up.
