Well, in anticipation of a HUGE hit, Paramount pictures has already begun organizing the sequal to the next movie that's not even due out until May. According to what I ready, they are expecting to have a script for the sequal completed before the end of the year and a new movie release aiming for summer 2011.




Lets hope the reboot of the franchise is as good as they expect it to be!

Wow, The interviews were pretty scary, but the movie looks promising.  I am a little curious what brand of sports the one man would go watch.  He was definately a trekkie poser.  I mean all he had was a t-shirt.  Not even plastic pointy ears or a phaser.  I bet he refers to his junk as his flux capacitor though.  That has to count for something.

the new star trek movie actually is not that bad of a movie.

sure its a sci fi and there are holes in the plot,but tell me a story that doesn't have any holes?

overall it has its special effects, pays homage to the old stuff. .but definitely shakes things up.  if you are a hardcore trek fan, then its not perfect at all. but if you can get past that and accept that they are trying to remake the series into something new while still being familiar, ie bsg, batman returns, etc.. then it works on that level. 

is the movie perfect, no its not, but its certainly better than the last couple of star trek movies.  its a movie that if it goes over well with more people they can rebuild the franchise on.. just like they have rebuilt the batman franchise.

I am waiting for the Star Trek: Deep Space 9 movie event.  I mean the potential of a 2+ hour movie on space exploration on a city sized ship that doesn't move in space is endless.  I think I might break out my pointy ears and nappy hair wig and go as Spock and Warf's love child.
