Another "Brian Update" I hope it's ok that I use this thread to vent!
Consult doc #2 called yesterday afternoon to share his concern of our decision to do the knee reconstructions when he felt that the patellas weren't as concerning as the poly-arthritis. Regardless of where we go, he strongly suggested we do NOT ignore his gut feel. After a long conversation w/him and another w/doc #1 (who's is scheduled to do the surgery on the 4th) – I brought him in to doc #1 to take the fluid out of some of his joints.
Fluid not the color and texture it should be but we'll know more when they get the lab results early next week. High probability that we are in fact dealing with more than just the knee issue.
B-man, B-money, B-rian is sleeping off what anesthesia is still in his system. Poor guy. But felt just as sorry, if not more, for so many of the other pups and kittens that came into the clinic while I was waiting. Some had to be turned away because the people had no money and bad credit. I wanted to give them all what little money I had left.

So both Greta and Alex occupy our bed with us. My wife gets up before me, takes the dogs for a walk, feeds them (that is if they dont want to go straight back to bed), etc. Alex always comes back to bed with me. Greta usually stays downstairs with Tiffany and sleeps on the couch. Well, apparently, she let Greta back in bed with me and I never noticed her.
So I get up, shower, get ready for work, and go down stairs to take her out before I go. I can't find her. I am like WTF?
(I close the bedroom door when gone and get Alex out of bed when I come home for lunch...yes, he is that lazy)
So I open up the bedroom door......................

There's no catching in our house; dogs are allowed to sleep on furniture, bed, etc.
They are our kids; they are entitled to the same comforts as us!
Greta is such an odd dog.
The idiot sleeps under the covers with her head on my legs.
Wouldn't you think she'd get hot?
oh no.
It was 92 degrees the other day and she was sunning herself on the sidewalk in our courtyard.
never met a dog like this one.........

I used to allow the whippets in the bed, years ago. After Grover pushed me out onto the floor one night I changed my mind.
Actually it was more because of my allergies...it's not good for me when they track pollen into the bed.
I had them trained to get on the couch when invited and not other times. Someone
(ahem MrI ahem)
trained them out of that, so the couch is now fair game to them. That same someone also invites Watson up on the bed from time to time. I prefer it to be on invitation only because some guests are uncomfortable if a dog suddenly hops up into their lap.
They don't get into trouble if they are on the bed, I just ask them nicely to get off. They have plenty of plush beds of their own, next to the fire, in the sun, and yet they still ask me to cover them with blankets.

My official mascots, a 2 yr. old American Bulldog mix (Bodhi, as in Patrick Swayze in Point Break) and a 1 year old Pitbull (Dharma, like the Buddhist Goddess).

Sounds like I will be hosting a not-so-playful puppy.
No long walks and off-leash fun at the park like last time.

Some had to be turned away because the people had no money and bad credit.
My vet will make sure an animal gets the proper care regardless of the circumstance. I wouldn't go to a vet that turned away sick animals over money.
