Sorry to learn about this metallimonster . ..

when we had to let Rocco go, it was hard but, we got over it, we have Enzo[Rocco's son] and Max a dog bought in the sense of the word but actually rescued . . .

If you have no other dogs . ..  just remember all the good times you two spend together and you'll smile, not laugh but smile at the memories and as time passes it will be less painfull not to

well, metallimonster you aren't the only one crying your eyes out.. i lost my "different one" a couple of months ago, the day after thanksgiving. mufasa was 12 & had an almost year long battle with multiple myeloma, which is a blood cancer. i've had dogs all of my life & i currently have 3 others, but none of them can ever compare to fasa.. i miss him every day.. i truly know what you're feeling. there's not much anyone can say to take the pain away. it's just something you learn to live with i think...i tend to try & make other people happy, random acts of kindness, making other people have a better day tends to make me have a better day..at christmas i did a big donation to an animal charity..he made my life so much better, i think it's only right i try to make other lives better

kitana sounds like an amazing fur-baby & she had an amazing life with you...my thoughts are with you

Man that's tough. I feel for you.

I play with my dog in the evenings and I completely dread the day she leaves this world Sad

You likely saved her life and it sounds like she understood that.

I know its hard now but be proud. She couldn't have wanted a better life than the one you gave her.

Check your local animal shelter or humane society. Most have support groups for those who have lost a pet.

RIP Kitana.

All thank you so much for the advice, help, outlet.  Reading your thoughts has really helped.  My Mom and I are going to a support group next week which I think will help.  That dog was her entire life. She probably let her in and out of the house 40 times a day. I don't live there anymore so I don't have to be constantly reminded of her.  Helping mom get through this is actually making it easier on me. Being at work helps too.

One really sad part is that Kitana and Kodi (my fiancee's dog who lives with her parents) were going to be in our wedding. I love love love Kodi but I'm really worried that the wedding will not be has joyfull as I want it to be without my little girl.

Can't get to photo sharing websites at work. I'm hoping to get some pictures up on here tomorrow.

Thanks again guys.

So sorry metallimonster - Kitana sounds truly special - I teared up just reading your post.  I lost my Cofi to hemangiosarcoma in just about 10 years ago and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him and miss him terribly.  Hugs for you and your Mom; take time to heal.

RIP Kitana Cry

Very sorry to hear of your loss.

I dread the day I have to make that decision with my bulldogges. unrealistically I believe they will live forever. I guess in my heart they will.

Again, I am sorry to hear and hope you can find peace in time, Dave

No, not mine. Just thought the thread could use some happy dog stuff for a bit.
