Here are my two;
Nessi is a pub mixed with something, we dont know what. We've had people say she looks like she's mixed with a french bulldog, someone said a pitbull. We have no clue.
Butch is a pug, we got him when he was 10 years old about a year ago. When we got him, we didnt think he would last a month, he was in such bad shape. Extremely skinny, limped, didnt eat. It turned out that whoever had him before didnt care for his teeth at all and most of them had to be pulled. Now, he's fat, no more limp, eats like a pig and is just happy.

Update on Brian.
Met with a third orthopedic surgeon yesterday. His diagnosis was very similar to the first ortho, but to a little lesser degree. He also recommended surgery on both of Brian's hind legs to correct the patella concern. His surgical procedure was less invasive than ortho #1, however.
We then went back to visit ortho #1. Reviewed the findings of the other doctors and discussed corrective measures. He was open to performing the procedure that ortho #3 recommended, after scoping both knees on the day of surgery to ensure the groove the patella rides in was substantial enough for the surgery to be a success. He also cautioned about pinning the tendon to the tibia due to the repeated stress on it from the quadriceps muscle group.
Bottom line is that B is going under the knife at some point in the near future. Stella and I need to get that figured out, as I have more than a fair amount of travel for work upcoming, and his recovery will require quite a bit of TLC from both of us.
We'll keep you posted.

Need to make sure that they include upon discharge: meds for Brian and meds for stella!

Prepping for post surgery (waiting for the doc to confirm Friday Sept. 4th). Bought a 5 ft kiddie pool for Brian. My plan that I sold Randimus on is to cut out a side and fill it with mulch, put it in the living room so we don't have to take him outside to do his business. At least for the first few days or week. Just too many things outside that could tempt him to jump or lunge (floating fuzzies, stray dogs, squirrels, the wind) and ruin the doc's work and create more vet bills.
We'll have him use it a few times before the event so it's not something new to add to his confusion when he comes home.
Also looked at materials at the big box hardware store to build a ramp that we'll need when we feel he's safely able to go outside.
Any suggestions from anyone else who's gone through something similar whether it's recovery, boredom, or doggy depression related?
Thanks!

Stella,
Look up "patio potty" much less effort than the mulch option.

Three dog Bakery sells one too.

There's stuff you can spray on the doggy "litter box" to attract them to use it. If you can't find it, I'll post a link later.

Oh I like that! Way better than the kiddie pool. Will have to opt out of the hydrant feature so he doesn't put more weight on one leg than the other but will definitely check into it tomorrow thanks Trouble!
Interesting doggy liter box spray. Will google that too. Thanks P.!

Thanks Owen (& Mary)! B's on Tramadol now and of the two side effects the vet told us about (drowsie or agitated) we got the agitated. Cut the dosage by half & he's still a pistol. We can't get through this entire crisis fast enough.
