Definitely a bit more fierce then a coyote.

The coyotes around here are strange. I always thought they were sort of loaner animals, not much of a pack animal.

All the coyotes I have seen in the wild roam alone.

Well, not the ones here.

My neighbor got surrounded by 4 of them in the park across the street from where we live.

I've started to carry my .45 while dog walking at night.

They be pack hunters-they're plenty around here.

I'm not worried about them-attacks are rare:

All the coyotes I have seen in the wild roam alone.

Coyotes run and hunt in packs. You just didn't see the ones flanking you.  Smiley

I live next to this:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolsa_Chica_Ecological_Reserve

We get coyotes running through our neighborhoods looking for cats to feed on.

Possums: I hit one at 2:30 in the morning in my black and white the other day, hard. I went back to make sure it wasn't a cat or dog and saw the possum. I shined my light on it and it ran away. Tough mothers.

My JRT loves to go after the possums hiding in the bamboo in my backyard.

That sucks, AdamX.  Cry

Hopefully a black lab named Marley is not joining the big pack in the sky tonight.

Stella and I were driving home from the store and I spotted some activity on a side street.  It looked kind suspicious, so I circled the block.

Turns out a guy was walking his dog that took off after a squirrel and got hit by a car.  One leg was badly broken, and it looked to have internal injuries as well.

Being that I had a truck, we offered to take them to the best emergency vet hospital around, which was only 15 minutes away.

Best wishes to Marley!

:'( sorry to hear about all the injured and deceased here, but it really shows everyones love for mans best friend.

This is Jack.  They told us lab mix at the pound, but he seems to have a lot of setter in him.  Pretty skinny, and graceful in the woods.
