We checked out the Mastiff.  She was apricot colored and a sweetheart!!  We're taking the night to think it over though.  We want to let the idea sink in before we make a rush decision.   

You folks have real control.  There is nothing like a puppy to overcome any sense of control.  I make it a point to not look at puppys if I am not ready to bring one home.

I've considered shooting both dogs every now and again whenever they wake the kid, mom, or me up since the kid came along. Mine are low energy breeds, ancient and well trained.

I've had plenty of friends and family with babies and pups/adult dogs without everybody being at each others throats. In fact, we're planning on adopting a pup several months before we start trying for a baby. I think its different for everybody, just like certain dog training methods work for some people but not others.

If you and your wife feel its right, then go for it IZ. Pics required of course!

However, we made the adult decision..for now..not to take in a new dog until after the baby is born and has grown a bit.

Darmah doesn't seem all that impressed with the snow.  Kind of disappointed about it really, as I thought she would be freaking the hell out with it after living her entire life (until now) in Hawaii.

absolutely!! the bond was instant...the dog recognized certain "key behaviors" in the grandson

that being said....after the dog's drool dries-up everything looks like Monica Lewinski's dress,

or perhaps like a certain former president visited for a day and found Viagra in a medicine chest

The reason he likes your guns is becuase lead is extremely sweet tasting to a dog - pretty bad for them too... A friend of mine used to reload shotshells and spilled just a few lead bb's on the ground which the dog ate and died from.

Look closer, it's an air soft .  He would annihilate my XD if he ever got ahold of it.
