Track bike for sale
«
on:
October 20, 2008, 07:57:46 AM »
I'm sure that there are a few people wanting a track bike after Saturday
I have decided to let my R6 go since I will most likely be tracking my 1098 exclusively. I am asking $6000.
2006 Yamaha R6 w/only 500 miles
Hot Bodies race fairings w/ pearl yellow paint
Wood craft engine guard
Ohlins steering damper
M4 full race exhaust
Vortex rearsets
Steel braided brake lines
Suspension set up by Jim Cambora
Bike was built by Ty Howard

My 1098 has been repaired, so the R6 will be left at home. Do not want to risk it since I am going to sell it

oh no...it's a Yellow one and one of the bikes I was considering as a track bike since I'm starting to second guess desmoquattro reliability for track use...[must resist...no new bike until I get to March safely - still too new of a rider...

Oh, I gotta say that scares me a bit... When I totaled my S2r 800 (twisted frame + lots of other stuff), the estimate from AMS to fix was 13k.
The bike sold as an "EZ fix" to someone unsuspecting that didn't check it first. Not a Happy Ending.
Just saying...

Yes ... you must be weary and know what to look for and in most cases all you can go by are the pictures on the site. If your goal is to buy something cheap and fix it cheap yourself (IE. not by AMS), then you can do good to purchase a bike this way. Some of these bikes are in TX and you may be able to get a better look at them, but that I do not know that for sure.
But please do your homework and know what you are getting into, nothing sold this way is guaranteed, has any kind of warranty or can be returned!!!

You will not see me pregnant dog about thread jacking, but posting a place to buy salvaged bikes in my track bike sale thread is a little cold. don't you think? Did I piss you guys off somehow
The R6 would make a much better track bike for the majority of people. Track bikes will be crashed. The R6 will be MUCH cheaper to repair after a big get off. The bike is very light, and has comparable power to a 749. This bike is track ready and only has 500 miles on it. It really is a steal. I am selling it so I can buy something from Sir L'Smart .
