Saturday night, got hit by a retard on the freeway
.....took out the front wheel, hit the pavement, multiple fractures in left clavical, possible cracked ribs, whiplash, etc. etc. etc. Bus ride to Brackenridge ER...wheeee!!!! Joe, you were right..."legendary nursing staff" does certainly apply
..
I'm at home now, bike's jammed/jacked up in th garage....and I'm bummed bummed bummed....it only hurts when I laugh (b.s. it hurts all the time)....I'll be out of work for awhile.....
But let me tell you bruthas & sistas...nothing and I mean NOTHING in the world can take the place of good friends....TxDuc (Tim), I owe you a gigantic debt of gratitude for your help....Tim stayed with me, made sure I was safely out of the line of fire, picked my bike up, delt with the police, waited forever in the "hood" for the tow truck..and made damn sure my bike found it's way home....next beer's on me!!!
ok, every drink from now on....!! Muchos muchos gracias, my friend.....

Paul,
Screw the pain pills. Take it like a man and do more of this;
.
Hope you get all the insurance stuff sorted out. Glad to go hear you're able to post up and have a sense of humor about it. Get better soon, that goes for your Ape too.
Tim, next time you see Paul make sure you get a pic of him doing this
, as you do some of this

Wow!! I take a few pain pills, I sleep and when I wake...all this love!!!
Thank you one, thank you all....THANK YOU TXDUC!!!!
Petro-bot!!! Joe thats cool!!! Do we insert "booos from the crowd" here? Clearly, Pedrosa is not loved in Indy!! But I guess you are loved here in Tx, so it's all good.
Alvin, I just may consider your proposal!!! 4 valves have stolen my heart, so the air cooled Monsters are off a shopping list....but !!
Well time to get caught up....albiet one handed chicken pecking the keyboard...
Tim & I were riding home from Ivo's in the cold air that is the "rural-ness" that now defines Casa Ivo. Coming down the hill on NB 35 towards Lake Austin, as the temp was mercifully rising an accident was clearly being worked around 3rd st/ I 35...lots of emergency vehicles/lots of very visable flashing lights and what appeared to be a recently closed freeway...
We came closer and it was very obvious that traffic was slowing, and there was heavier than normal car density so everybody slows...got down to first gear in the middle of 3 lanes and some moron moving waaay to fast in the fast lane catches it late and locks his brakes and spins his car right into my lane, just missing Tim, and I got hit with his rear tire area of his Impala.....never saw him coming, only heard the tire squeal a millasecond before he hit me. Tim said he performed a miracle manoever to evade getting hit too and the rest is history. Worst yet, dude had easily 200 yards in front of him to slow down, nobody blocking him, so the only deduction I have is that dude did not want to be "held up" and decided to try a hero 3 lane change to exit the freeway offramp and I was in his path...gee sorry dude, you know, to get in YOUR way and all.
Front end gets taken out and I hit the asphalt, bang my head (THANK YOU ARAI!!!) break my collarbone, tweak my elbow/wrist/ribs/hip....moral of the story? wear your gear wear your gear wear your gear......helmet saved my life, period...
Dude is driving with Florida d/l, Georgia plates and ....wait for it..........expired insurance card...great Police cite him for failure to control his vehicle and not having a current insurance card... he's at fault (duh) legally, so thats a positive...
Tuono is all ground up on the left side...all my pretty new carbon fiber jacked up...transmission stuck in first by lever smashed into the frame, tank chipped, lever ground, fairing, radiator, swingarm, frame all marred up.....it's a lovely parting gift...
So I spent my day today seeing the Ortho doc, sleeping, then trying to get info whether or not dude is insured....as of this writing, Infinity Select Insurance has not a). not heard from dude, meaning I had to generate the claim, and b). haven't even assigned a claim rep to this claim...POS insurance company...
Geico, on the other hand, has been aaaalllll over this since I called it in, thank God they're on my side. I intend to only claim it on mine if dude shows to be not insured...so let the games begin!!!! Can you sing the "Sueing you mofo" blues??? No mercy...if you're gonna play, you're gonna pay....
But I'm in pretty good spirits, I know everything will be fixed, me included, it just comes down to which company.....if dude comes up un insured, it's lawyer time.....
Again, thanks for the love, board...it means a lot to me....peace

Yo Paulie,
Crap, man, sorry to hear about your freeway accident. It's bad enough that the driver hit you, but now his insurance coverage is questionable too. Good luck on that end, I know how hard it is to get reimbursement from someone with little/no coverage at all. Best you can hope for in this case is that the police throws as many citations at him as possible, and that the lawyers go at him from all angles.
Keep up the good spirits and heal up quick. Let's hope that bike is salvageable. Gotta get you back out on the road as soon as possible.
