You guys crack me up +1 on all comment about revenue raising and bureaucraps. There is a couple of new box on a stick thingos located on the South bound lane, just past the emergency ramp/truck inspection area about half way down Mount Ousley. This is the bit before you get to Mount Pleasent Road bridge. I thought it was an RTA traffic monitoring camera (which it could be...). It could be the nazi noise whatsit. I heard they had to close the truck inspection area because of residents complaining about the exhaust braking as the trucks pulled into the inspection area. I'm up for the air horn fun. Could stop and give it a blast every day on my way home from work - now wouldn't that give it to 'em  I know the spot you are talking about Ducsport, yes an airhead ... er... airhorn.... perfect  Mmick

Yes that is the spot just after the warning sign with the flashing lights. There was an article in the paper about 12 months ago and yes we don't hear as many trucks comming down the mountain at night anymore. Thankfully the cameras face front on so not too worried about my noisy bike, Another thing to note next time your headding into Wollongong is there is now a speed camera 50 metres down the hill past the noise cam. I think they have put this in to catch that poor truckie that lets the truck coast by the noise cam and then get pinged for speeding!  Go figure, sneeky buggers. Rob |
