Restoring a '71 Honda CB 175.

Well, not really returning to it's original factory condition, but you know, re-styling it  [evil].

I had a mates MT 125 in my shed which I gave back to him, just wasn't interested in fixing someone else's bike.

Thoughts.  ???

A simple answer is "Why Not"?? There is a lot of satisfaction in rebuilding something and making it a running functioning beast!! (A CB 175 a beast you might ask?? Maybe not but so what [thumbsup])

I would have liked to get my hands on the old Honda Dream (I think??) 305 twin at the GP. In absolutely original condition (Even one of the tyres would you believe!! Shudder!! :o  ) But it was all there.  ;D

And its actually a good excuse to go to the garage and drink  [beer].   ;D

Totally depands on how much $$$ your gonna pour into it.
But if I had the space, I am sure I'd have some "little" cafe racer project going on.

Super T.I.B

Well, I can have it for $100.

Strip, clean, repaint BLACK

Tyres, clip ons, re-(whatever you do to spoke rims)store, new seat, new brakes.

I know it still runs, I used to ride it at work until the owner got transferred and took it with him. I actually dropped it when riding one day when the drum brake front locked up on me in the gravel. Worst case of gravel rash on my calf that I ever had  >:(. Broke the clutch lever  [laugh].

If you don't want it, i'll have it,   ;) would be a good inexpensive rainy day project.
Restore back to original or a little cafe racer project,  either would be good.

Little fairing, single seat and tailpiece, candy apple red, lotsa chrome, could be good....

I'm with Brimo. Go for it, and if you don't, PM me the contact details. I'll buy it.

It would be a great little cafe racer project to play around with. [thumbsup]

mattyvas

Have ya bought it yet?
If not and your gonna pass, I'll take it off his hands.

mattyvas

This is one I found some time back.
It's pretty neat looking IMO.

Ya, I've bought it.  [cheeky]

Just have to pick it up, I'm in no great rush to get it, she's sitting in a nice dry shed with a blanket covering her.

I have to clean my shed out first to make her feel at home.  ;)

Doesn't look like it would go very fast, it's got no chain on it.  :P

But that is a sweet looking bike.  [thumbsup]

You sure that's a CB175?

mattyvas

Not sure but I think it's from the same vintage, never noticed it didn't have a chain.
I was too busy looking at how cool the thing looks, I'm sure even with a chain on it it wouldn't go real fast anyways.
