fellas e sheilas,

i have some dumb questions to ask... since i've been living in Rome for the past 3 years, my little 620 Monster has been sitting back in my garage all alone  Sad. I'm only gonna be home for 3 weeks but in those 3 weeks i will be riding the bike daily, so... should i think about organising the 40,000km Service? (it has done 36,000 kms and last service was around 2005 at 28,000) If so... what does a 40K service cost these days? and who is a good mechanic to use? (was serviced by Fraser's Homebush and Red's Penrith with mixed results). Need new tyres as well, gonna register it and just get 3rd party insurance. if my memory serves me well, i expect to pay $2k all up for roughly 21 days use... 100/day dont sound too bad i think and i will probably do a road trip to Cowra and possibly Lakes Entrance in VIC... so the kms will defintely clock over.

thoughts?

definitely get it serviced - last thing you want is a belt to fail.. 20000 or 2 years, which ever it first.

re where to go, flywheels or gowanlochs are what most people round here use

I would assume a 40K is similar to a 20K? If so, I would think that the service plus a set of tyres would be around $1200 or perhaps more, depending on what else needs to be done and what tyres you choose etc etc... You may also need a battery etc if it's been idle for that long.

let us know if you need more info.

Beat me too it, but here you go.

Go and see Ron at Flywheels in Alexandria.
He has two Sydney Metro's be Mecho's in Rob and George.
They are very fair and always like to see Monsters in the shop.
