Wow, what timing! After those two wonderful posts and authors I will fit right in here at the last! Cool!
And now it's my turn for the apology for which I don't know why I would feel this way but it seems that a lot of people have brought it to my attention recently that I am a total asshole, fail person, biggot, that I wear tinfoil on my head, and I smoke crack while being in a full state of dissillussionment.
Therefore, I, like several others on the board am retreating from the anger, hate, deceit, lies, politically non-correctness and let's go ahead and throw in the Blatant Double-Standard that I seem to exhibit. No, it's not that I'm taking a knock on my personality and can't recover it's just that I'm sorry that my dry wit has not been realized by those it was mearly intended to entertain.
I've tried to fit this square peg in the round hole of the DFWM board but it's just not working. I just wanted to make some new friends, ride, and have fun. I didn't realize it was going to be such hard work to gain acceptance. I'm not a bad person and I wish several of you had taken the time to find out more about me. I'm sure you'd think different of me if you had. I'm sorry for that.
So in taking some of my own advise as I've been told to do, I will be looking inside my heart for some answers as to why I'm this way.
I am retiring from the DFWM board as well as any other board associated with the DFW area. To those who know how to get in touch with me feel free to do so at any time. You're my buds! Thanks for the fun times.

Been there, done that. I have also been a pariah to this group for far too long. Not that you ever have been. I win that contest hands down. I have taken a leave and returned with a (hopefully) better attitude. You all will be the judge, not me. And your vote wins not mine.
I see no reason for this. What the hell have you done? Me? Sure! Tar and feather my ass out of town on a rail but not you. I suggest you have a couple of adult beverages of your choice and sleep on it. Heck, I'll join you! Not in that way!!!
Shouldn't we just focus on riding and bikes? Didn't Tommy post up the best post ever about this? Personally I think we should all turn off the god damn computers and just call each other on phones and plan a ride or lunch or dinner. This message board shit is killing us!!! How stupid is that? I am partially to blame and I swear I will stop. Anyone want to join me? Twelve step program?

Red, I will be sorry to see you go if that is what you choose. There is another aspect to an apology that is sincerely offered with an attempt to make things " right " - FORGIVENESS !
I know you very briefly but visiting your home, meeting your family and friends, I know that you are a decent and good man. I also know that we have very radically different political views. That does not matter. There is a really good reason that some things are proscribed on this forum - because people hold tightly to their views and beliefs and they dislike seeing them challenged publicly. One person's sarcasm is another's personal affront.
That being said - what gives a community strength and resiliance ( and what makes it interesting ) is the different points of view, the different skillsets, backgrounds, ages, sexes, etc. I like to snowboard and what makes my snowboard work is various layers of different material that give it strength, flexibility, and edge. America is like that - this Forum is like that!
The rules are like a lubricant that keep the Forum engine running smooth by keeping the friction to a minimum. DFWM runs at a pretty high RPM too. If we were all alike with the same opinions etc. this deal would be pretty F@#$^ng boring.
I have a hard time understanding people who are fearless enough to pass on an uphill blind corner on their bike but are afraid of being modded or censored on a forum. There are some who will drive twice the posted speed without a care but are afraid to consider other's feelings about what they post.
Sorry I've gone on & on here but I wanted to vent a little. I know this about you Red, anyone who wants to pretend to be you needs to put some typos in their messages,
apart from that you need not apologize for much else, as long as you keep a few things to yourself that we all should keep to ourselves when posting up !

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Thanks for your comments.
At the foremost of my convictions in life is forgiveness. My personal religeous belief teaches me that. I do forgive. It feels good to forgive. I forgive those who attack me as I forgive myself for thinking ill thoughts about the attackers. Another of my traits is that I am sometimes not as nice, considerate, intuitive, thoughtfull, loving, caring, or kind enough sometimes as I should be. Please forgive me for that. I become those things again when humbled. It takes realizing what is important that humbles ones soul. I am humbled by this group.
Many things that are felt on this forum by each of us. Some things are superficially taken as fact when said in a public forum such as this and taken to heart as what is said by a person is therefore what that person represents. I refer to myself in this manner. Now a days if when online you are not on your game 24/7 you stand a chance of making mistakes. I have made mistakes lately insomuch as thinking that what I say may be taken as humor on my account. I will not ever make a mistake like that again when posting. That is if I feel the need to post again. I will not be a PW anymore but more a silent observer. As you will find out Cyclone since you are a young man, with age comes wisdom and wisdom is wasted when looking backward. I cannot change anything in my past that is fact. The choices I make going forward will shape the hope I have for the future. I hope going forward no one finds reason to have to forgive me again.
Oh, as far as the typos Mr. Secretary, I see 13

Ok, I don't know if this has anything to do with my rant about the Octuplet lady, but if it does, I tried to go back to that thread and post a clarification. To no avail. I apologize for any misunderstandings, but that rant was to sort of show my way of thinking about stereotypes. Here everything on the news shows this woman as the 'stereotypical' system abuser, but we really don't know her whole story so it is hard to truely form an opinion. It is easy to form an impression though.
Same thing with the euro/jap thread I tried to post this but that thread is locked too. I really like what cher, T, and El Matador wrote on that topic.

Steve, point the finger at me for locking the Euro/Jap thread. I did so because I don't want to be a source of contension or controversy. I see no reason, on the other hand, not to re-open the thread if people will not blame me for starting a fight. Ha! Imagine that. Really though, let's have a civil discussion.

Hey Brian (and gang)--
I'm in Stephenville actually, and am in my last and final and etc. semester of school at Tarleton State. Still doing the pilot thing, still planning to join the Marine Corps (
) to be a pilot for them.
Still bikeless. Sad day.
You guys should holler at me if you make it to the Hard 8 again.

Red--
As the uh...OFFICIAL holder of the pariah-having-pissed-off-everyone-on-this-whole-entire-forum-not-just-the-DFWM title, I can say this...
It's the internet. People are people. No matter how PC you go, someone will be offended. The DFWM, however opinionated (and man are they ever!), is the best group of people I've come to know throughout my shenanigans (and man have I ever had some!). Just gotta give the boiling water time to cool.

Sounds good, we will give you a holler indeed next time we are in your neck of the woods. Glad school is going well. Hopefully you can fix that no bike thing soon!
Take care bro'! And yes, I am still working on being done with my BS!! It takes a long time to get out of that memory groove!
