I couldn't tell if he meant that he was shocked that he was 3.5 in front of Stoner or if he was like "Oh shit, Stoner's only 3.5 behind me."

I dont think the number matters. I think at that point, with the way Stoners been riding this year on the honda.......just that he is next in line behind you must be worrysome!

I saw Ben with a couple friends sitting down at Wholefoods in Lakewood the other day.  It was all I could do not to be an annoying fan and bug him, but in retrospect, hardly anyone knows who these guys are in the first place.  Maybe I should have stolen a quick phone pic.

I bet if you had gone up to him and said Hi, he would have been fine....he is apparently subjected to alot more in Como when he is bopping about town there near his 2nd home...

america... where motogp stars come to be ignored.  haha

but yeah, i'm sure that he gets little enough attention in the us that you going up to him and asking for a pic/autograph would have been perfectly cool.

I bet he'd give you even more props if you asked him for a Spies Cycle Racing sticker for your car....

Yeah, I see him down the street at Central Market often during the off season. See his Benz with the ELBOWZ plates all over the east Dallas/Lakewood area. He has a house near White Rock Lake right down the street from my brother in law. I know Giannis (ex AMS employee) ran into him before the 2009 WSBK season at the Best Buy on Central and said he was a really nice, down to Earth guy and they chatted bike racing for 15-20 minutes. Next time I see him at CM I'm going to say hi. I'm sure nobody knows who the hell he is in Dallas. Heck, he probably likes that.
