CRG Hindsight LS mirrors ROCK!!!

Well worth the price. Now I realize how crappy the stock mirrors are. I am able to see so much behind me now without turning my head. I will still turn and look but this gives a huge heads up before I do take my eyes off the road for a bit.
My best modification to date on the 696..
Quick question for those with the mirrors on the 696. What are you doing to plug the stock mirror mount holes? I just screwed the bolts back in but they stick out like a sore thumb.
In case you are wondering the mirrors are mounted on Rhinomoto CRG mount bar end sliders.
Sorry the night time pictures. I just installed them this evening.

undo the clamp the stock mirrors mount to and just flip the mount to the bottom and reclamp

Why didn't I think of that. Do I need to plug the hole or can I leave it exposed? Thanks for the heads up.

They def work her in SoCal. I had to lane split 3/4 of the distance from Carlsbad to Downtown SD this afternoon and things were getting tight!

I always thought it would be cool to chop off the stock mirror, shortening the arm to your liking and attach a bracket for a GPS, camera or other electronic device.

How funny! I just installed my CRG LS mirrors with RhinoMoto sliders as well! And I wondered about the holes and was thinking about buying shorter screws, but the plugs seem to be a good option. Thanks for the timely thread!

I can attest to the high quality of CRG parts. A few weeks ago, I was working on the bike while it was on it's sidestand, and ended up dropping it to the left right onto my roommates CBR600 (stupid stupid stupid). The first thing to hit was my CRG mirror, which folded in, then the next thing was my CRG lever. The bike came to rest with all it's weight on my mirror and lever, which were on the CBRs swingarm. The only damage was a tiny scuff on the lever. Nothing bent or broken, my mirror's alignment wasn't even changed. You can't get better quality than CRGs.

theyre in the hardware aisle with all the nuts and bolts,
probably in a drawer like all the stainless, metric, washers, odd bits and pieces...

CRG levers is on my wish list. Again, I'm glad for this timely thread. And thanks, Lazarus7, for the info on the plugs! I'm heading over to HD later today.
Here's a pic of my mirrors installed.

Agreed, there are a lot of similar (but inferior) products out there. CRG is the one to get. Z E R O vibrations and very solid.
Makes moving the bike in the garage beside cars and stuff so nice the way they flip in too.
Killer product, I love mine.

Again, great idea! I got some at Home Depot (only white available), but I have black paint so I figure I'll just paint them. The 5/16" plugs are a smidge tight. I probably can force 'em in, but we'll see.
I wonder what size the bolts are? I brought mine to HD and none of the standard or metric sizes matched. Plus, the right bolt screws in counter clockwise...weird. I was hoping to find shorter hex bolts to just put 'em back on, but hard to match the size.
If I'm too lazy to paint, I'll invert the bracket. But a great idea, nonetheless!

thats why i used snap-in plugs,
hard to find reverse thread bolt
which is necessary so the mirrors dont unthread themselves
with the wind force.
