in the first vid when he's showing opening his hips up to point into the turn......then you can start using the bike like a thigh master and just scissor your thighs closed when you transition back to the other side of the bike for the next turn.   means less bar input because you're not pulling yourself accross.

I've definitely noticed that in the last month or two.  If you shift your weight properly, the bars just kinda go where they're supposed to.  I like the idea of staying off the seat too.  If your legs are taking the brunt of the road chatter, that's that much less your rear shock has to take care of.  That is, if your knees can handle it. *coughs, stands up and listens to knees crackle*

I would say so. I learned A LOT from this vid. I have been moving off the seat to the right and left but not turning my hips as much as I should have been. This vid showed me that along with moving off the seat, pointing my hips in the direction of the turn points your head to where you want to go rather than immediately in front of you. I've been fighting that for a long time.

It's also allowed me to get the weight off my hands (mostly during heavy breaking, keeping the suspension more neutral) and to hold myself on the bike with my legs only, been fighting that for a while too.

I have gained more confidence and am a safer rider learning these skills. I feel like I can ride well every time I go out rather than feeling like the bike is working me at times.

After following the steps in this post, my confidence in hanging off the bike has has significantly improved. It just feels so natural once you get used to it.

It's like the last 2 seconds of the Part2 were made especially for me.
As long as your not doing THIS. (I SAID!) As long as your not doing THIS!
Guilty as charged. I'll have to work that habit out..

I used to end up standing on the inside peg because I wasn't opening my hips up.  turning the hips and doing the thighmaster thing got my knee down and made me both faster and safer (70 percent riding for same speed that used to be 90)

I want MORE!!!!!!!!

I LUV how they remind ppl to stop hanging SOOO far off with their asses! Some kids we ride with think thats HOW to do it and cannot understand why me and SO can go just as fast and FASTER and SMOOTHER and not move a 1/4 off the seat as much as they hang!

I have MILES to go to improvement and these vids DID help. Looking forward to a LOT of track days to make me a better SAFER rider on the STREET!

Infinite thanks tot Idzer0 for posting this AWESOME VIDEO - I learnt so much from it!  Its like it was addressing me directly - telling me not to do the things I have been doing and how to do it correctly.  Can't wait to go practice.
