I spent this afternoon installing the CF Termis on my 696. I pulled out the db killers and fired it up, I only let it run for a few minutes because my brothers dog was freaking out. So here is my question: Is it normal for smoke to come out of them for awhile when they are new? I figure it's just burning off oils from the factory or something. Anyone else have this happen. Thanks in advance. - ryan

My dealer told me to expect something similar after I had my Termi's fitted, he said I may even get a burning smell from them, just ignore unless it get's really bad, It smoked a little after I shut the bike down, and have never done it since.

It happens in cars as well. It's just the oil and whatnot in the exhaust packing and manufacturing material.  chug

When I installed a LeoVince pipe on my scooter, it smoked even after the first few rides.

Thanks for your replies! When I started it up today it didn't smoke at all.  Smiley
