I, for one, am going to be done modding my 696 after 5-7 parts.

You know, the more money I spend on my 696, the more I realize I should probably just get an 1100 or a 1098 for the track and an 1100 for the street (wishful thinking).

Whats scary is that once I 'finish' modding the bike, the amount I spent on parts alone could buy me a whole new bike.

I'm already $2,000 into my bike. But, to be honest I spend money on all of my toys and it's the same with anything. You could always get the next best thing and mod that but there is always something better. When I was building cars, after dumping close to 10k into a z28 I was thinking "shit I could have had a vette for that price" at the same time I would have modded the vette and REALLY been broke.
So I say ride what ya got. If you can afford better, great, if not, make the beast with two backs it. I am a broke student who spend 100% of his money on riding and I wouldn't have it any other way. Hell, I worked a 12 hour shift today to help pay for the exhaust I just bought.

Yeah, true... so true. I spent nearly $20K modding my car. I think I need help or another hobby. Maybe I should get into photography, or maybe I should just get into several million dollars worth of debt and pray for hyper-inflation.

Hello MrPlease,
I am interested in turning my Monster 696 into a 180 rear....It has been exactly 5 years since you did this mod; do you still like it? Is there anything you would have done differently? Any other advice for me?
Do you have any new and or updated pics; can you share?

check the tutorials. I think there's one on there for putting ST wheels on the rear of the 696.

Nice to see a 4 year old thread still alive. Very clean customizations, too!
This build is being featured in the BikeBuilds.net[/URL]
We’re currently displaying only a reduced-size photo (similar to what you’d find in Google Images). We'd like to ask for your permission to publish the original full-size image with your build listing.
If anyone would like to have a build of their own listed, just send me a message with a link to the build thread and we’ll take care of the rest.
