about the parts. i did install the speedymoto crankcase cover & the personalized plate. as for the seat i went to install it and opened the box and "OH #!$#@" it was the touring seat. well just for curiosity i stuck it on the bike. first off i didn't like the looks of it. then i sat on it and i didn't like the feel of it either. well needless to say i'm sending it back. i already contacted the vendor and they are going to straighten it out. so hopefully i'll have my low seat in a week or so...

Very nice man. I got the pearl as well and im using this thread as inspiration!
I like the look of the ASVs...imo the pazzos look too, i dunno, toy-like. Do they have a model specific lever for the M696 or do the old monster ones fit?
Also wondering, how much did it run you to powdercoat your bits and pieces?

thanks!!!! and yeah they do make a 696 specific brake and clutch lever. its basically the same as the 695 but it has a different shaped neutral kill switch. so i was told by robert morales. anyway, yeah i liked the look of them better than the pazzos from the pics. and man i was blown away buy the quality of the asv's when they arrived in the mail. it was for sure a good choice!
as for the powdercoating i would say it should cost no more than $150-$200 to do everything. i paid much more since i did it in bits and pieces. it would def. be much cheaper to do them all at once...

well just for sh*ts & giggles i put on the touring seat just to see what it looked like. i did like the red stitching, but i don't like the over all shape of it compared to what the low seat looks like (or even the stock seat for that matter). i also like the fact that the low seat is a two toned black vs. just one black like the touring seat has...
anyway i snapped a few pics of the touring seat (before i sent it back) with & without the cowl...

well as for an update. i did get the ducati low seat and its on the bike. it looks killer and its more comfy than the stock seat. my only worry is the material where the driver sits. i'm not exactly sure what it is, but its kind of like a faux suede material. i'm a little worried about how it will wear later on down the road. i guess only time will tell.
anyway... like i said it looks sick. much better look than the stock seat. especially on a white or red one. i'm not sure it would look all that great on a dark 696 unless someone has a few red accents on it, because of the red stitching. but if a dark has red rim stripes etc. i think it would look awsome on it to.
as for a comparison of the low seat vs. touring seat. i can give a little thoughts as i've actually had both on my bike. i personally think the low seat looks way better. to me it goes with the lines of the bike much better. and i like the red stitching pattern better. it also has a more comfortable stance on the bike. the touring seat makes the bar position uncomfortable as the touring seat makes you sit higher, the bars feel to low. the low seat also, due to the material and the angle of it, doesn't make your "manhood" press against the tank like the stock seat does. so it makes it more comfortable in that area as well. overall i love the seat & its to date one of my fav mods so far.
pics will be coming as soon as it stops raining. its been raining here for days...............
