Exhaust leak update what to do

Exhaust is leaking at the rear cylinder at the header. So I thought I would just replace the gaskets. Took it apart and noticed the flange was warped. I bought the extended warranty. Found out it dosen't cover exhaust. They told me California has a law that "If you're vechical has less than 18k miles or less than 5 yr. old, the manufactor will  fix it." The header is $250.
I'm taking it to Good Times in Sacramento to see if they will replace the header this Wed.

I took it in today and they checked it out. First thing they told me "Having aftermarket exhaust (Arrows) makes it a gray area. Sometimes they ask and some times they don't. Sometimes they want pictures."

After they checked it they told me it was bent not warped. But they are going to submit it and see what happens.

How in the hell can you bend the flange of the header if you have never taken it off ? I would think the stud bolts would pull out or break first.

I  probably better start looking for a replacement and just fix it my self.

I am allready out $40 and if ducati dosn't fix it it will be another $90 just for them to check it out  today, 2 days work allready and 1 more day atleast and gas. I could of allready paid the $250 and be on the list for shipment. God only knowes how long it will take to even get one.

I am going to wait one week for an answer. If they say "NO" I may just get the Bureau of Automotive Repair involved, just because.

You should be able to find a used one, there are a few folks who have fitted a full system.
Matter of fact I have one but I'm on the other side of the pond.

I'm not sure if this applies to motorcycles but the exhaust has gone bad that's technically part of the emissions system.  I think that the laws are pretty strict that the manufacturer be responsible for keeping the emissions stuff working, maybe for 5 years or 18k?  Also, do you just have the Arrow cans?  Warranties need to be upheld unless they can prove that a specific modification directly caused a specific problem.  I don't think there's any way they can fault your cans for warping the flange.  Still, they can be jerks about it so be nice unless they outright refuse to help, then you can start getting tougher.

The way I understand it the law as explaned by the dealer it covers the whole stock exhaust system. I have the complete arrow system. The header is the only stock piece.

 I can  see it as being a gray area.

I just can't see how anyone could bend the flange of the header without causing some other damage to the head.
