Napoleon bar end mirrors. They're much bigger than any of the other bar ends and are on little arms so you can put them in pretty much any position you want. They're also incredibly sturdy and make good bar weights to cut down on vibrations. If you do happen to drop the bike as long as you can get the bolt out you just have to go to your local bolt store for a replacement as long as you can live with the scratches, it will still work just fine.

That's not true.  I have the Motovation sliders.

no he means if you get the rizoma mirrors you have to get the rizoma bar ends to fit the mirrors...

I'm confused... What I'm saying is that I have the rizoma mirrors and motovation bar ends / sliders.  I know Rizoma makes an integrated bar end and mirror... like the ones that pjfa has, but mine look like this:

I mentioned this in another thread.
696 owners, I am pretty sure you can
have your stock mirrors replaced
on the house sort of. My dealer says
DNA knows the mirrors stink on ice,
and they were given permission to
credit me $87 per mirror towards
the purchase of new ones. I got the
CRG's for $90ea at  the dealer.
Best thing to do is call your Dealer and
tell them "your mirrors broke off
at the base" that is the weak spot
of the mirror. Tell them what a crappy
design it is, and that you would like to
talk to the local Ducati Rep about it.
The metal piece that the bolt slides through
pops out of the plastic. Happened twice on mine.
One my fault, the other it just fell apart
from mashing it down to keep it in place.
I did not yell, scream, or even talk to the Rep.
As soon as I mentioned him or her they told
me about the approved swapping.   popcorn

I like the Rizoma's. The visibility is fine, though I can't remember if they're better than stock or not.

the reverse retros (and I assume all rizoma barend mirrors) come w/a variety of sleeves to accomidate different dia bar ends.

I had decent visibility w/my stock mirrors. the retros are nice, I just had to get used to looking at them, but provide adequate view for me, anyway.

but... being pretty and billet.... it kinda sucks when you drop your bike in a gravel lot  Sad

Napoleons offer great visibility, I've had them before.  I currently have the Third Eye bicycle bar end mirrors.  They rock!  Not the fanciest looking mirrors but they offer really good visibility with just a light convex and are very small and unobtrusive.  The other bonus is that they only cost about $15 each.

I've got the Rizoma Reverse Retro mirrors on my S4Rs and I love them; adore them, actually.  They're vastly better than the stockers, though they're not quite as small.  Bone solid, great optics, look simply incredible, and they have this really cool subtle blue tint that totally cuts down on the glare.  I've got them adjusted so that they're basically an extension of my peripheral vision, and they don't interfere with the grips at all.  On Ducatis, you'll need the Rizoma bar-ends to get the mirrors to fit, but they're a snap to install.  I bought mine from PJ's Parts, who I highly recommend.  Cheers.

Hey Takster, I've just ordered the same bar-ends, and am on the way to ordering the Oberon mirrors when I realized they come in 2 clamp sizes. Did you get the 7/8" or the 1" version? That oughta match the diameter of the mirror slot on the slider after you remove the anodized ring.

I've got he Motovation Barend Sliders and the Motrax Mini Reversable.  The Motrax are an exact copy of the the Rizoma Retro Reversibles.  for half the price A set of Motrax costs just over half the price of one Rizoma and no branding.

I'm using some $20 CRG knock-offs I got from CycleGear.  I've seen the CRGs in person and there is very little difference in quality.  They don't fold like the lane splitters but the visibility is the same.  For $160 total saved, I can live without the CNC "CRG" on the back.

I have CRG lane splitters - awesome visibility.  Can't comment at all on the Rizomas.  Just had my first bike drop this weekend (stupid gravity making the bike roll off the kickstand - zero mph drop) and the CRG folded in per the design thereby saving itself from being crushed.  So based on that I'd really recommend the lane splitters if you do go with the CRG's.  Don't pay $80 for mirrors that are hard-mounted outside of the bar end cause it will be easy to break them in a drop.

I've seen a lot of comments from people who seem to like the bicycle mirrors ($10-15) from Cat Eye or 3rd Eye cause they're cheap to buy and cheap to replace.

I got the third eye mirrors for cost reasons and to try out bar ends and they are great. Absolutely no vibration at hign and low speeds.
