Hi all,
I am considering doing a exhaust mod for purely cosmetic reasons and just trying to weigh it all up.
My exhaust is fine but I just want it up under the seat. I have the standard set up with low mount termi's. My bike is a 2000 904ieS
Has anyone done this mod before, from what I can tell I just need the mounts and cans with a longer pipe attached to them, is that correct? Is there anyway of buying a kit without getting a whole new set of Exhaust cans? Or do I need to get a complete kit, including a new set  of cans? I am also throwing round the idea of getting a custom job done locally in stainless. But would prefer just to keep it as is ( as high mount though) until i can do some research into it.
Thanks

You can't *easily* convert the low cans to high.  I could be done, but probably not worth the hassle/cost vs. getting high mounts and setting the lows.  Low cans typically have several inches of tubing extending from the body of the can, in order for them to link to the headers.

High mounts come in a couple different set ups, but all use the horizontal space between the can body and the header for some sort of S-pipe.  Termi highmounts use a separate s-pipe that attaches to the can end cap via springs, folks like Sil make the s-pipe and end cap and one piece.

So to make your cans in to highmounts, you've be looking at cooking up a new end cap config S-pipes, and some sort of hangers.

People have fabricated various custom set ups.. I think it was on TOB, but someone documented creating a custom under tail set up using a car muffler

Use this as an excuse to ditch the extremely heavy stock cans.  I think I remember hearing that people have dropped 15 lbs of weight by going to aftermarket cans.

High mounts are sexy!!!
