My nomination for Dick Move of the Day (automotive division) is the guy in the Hummer I was following this afternoon, who flipped a U-turn on Doyle Drive.

Well, actually, being in a boat of a vehicle, he couldn't quite complete the turn so had to back up to do a little K-turn action. 

Un-be-frickin'-lievable.

It was a few months ago, but while riding Palomares Road I could see a car up ahead.  I was wondering when I would catch up to it and how easy it would be to get by when I came around the corner on a sweeping blind right turn and the driver is making one of those K-turns right in the middle of the turn.  The worst part was that there was room at that point that they could have pulled off completely to make the U-turn without stopping in the middle of the road.  Fortunately I was paying attention, but I had to brake a bit harder than normal to avoid them.

I suppose it's not quite as bad in a Corolla as in a Hummer though, right?

The best dick move I every saw: Traffic is backed up because they're digging a massive trench down the middle of Bryant street.
Asshole in a jacked-up Toyota 4x4 is honking like mad in front of me, because we all know leaning our your horn makes backed-up traffic move faster 

Eventually the asshole gets fed up, tries driving on the extra wide sidewalk, fails to make progress, so he cuts back into the line and attempts  a U turn...

... And drives straight into the trench they're digging.

The best part is he managed to hit the trench just right, so none of his wheels have traction and he's just kind of teetering on the truck's frame.

That's beyond beautiful. Dick move today was some asshat cuts me off to enter the freeway, mistimes it, gets trapped behind a truck moving uphill VERY slowly and everybody he cut off to be first got to go around him no problem. Best part was watching him tear ass to get back in front, just so he could get off at the very next exit. Major cranio-rectal inversion on that one.

Division St. /9th  5PM Wed. Rush hour X 11tyb

I'm flanking following a Toyota Crudolla (about to pass it). A chick parked on the right yapping at friend in car, attempts a U turn from a parking space.
Cuts across my lane at a right angle. The Toyota in front of me honks swerves misses, I emulate. We miss her/oncoming traffic by an eyelash in tandem.

She waves sorry and returns to her parking spot.

I pull over contemplating reading her the riot act. I look back to see her do it again with a new set of vehicles 
She waves sorry at them but then continues staring behind her as she moves into oncoming traffic. They skid to a stop honking.
She's now stopping 4 lanes of traffic. Stalls car. Finally moves off the road to the other side and makes 20 point U turn in the lot.

OK, the fact that she admitted her mistake goes a long way to making it NOT a dick move. The qualifications should be to make a dumb move, not admit to it, and get pissed  and defensive when someone points it out.

This reminds me of another one.

A few years ago after a group ride in the Santa Cruz mountains, I was heading back home on my ST2 along with someone (who I can't remember) on a Monster.  After crossing the Dumbarton bridge, at the first light after 880 some moron in a Prius (I know, that's redundant) pulls out of the Nursery there trying to get to the turn lane and blocks all three lanes - ALL THREE LANES - while our light is green and the turn lane is red.  We wait for a full cycle, then he finally moves a little bit but still doesn't fully get into the turn lane, still blocking a lane and a half.  The two of us on motorcycles split past the confused cagers and squeezed by.  I wasn't used to the width of my hard bags, so I actually bumped the guy's rear bumper on the way past.  I didn't wait around and I could see in my mirrors that the guy in the Prius was somewhat upset that his new car had been bumped into, but I made it through the green light and was out of there.  When I got home I had to buff out the light green metallic paint on my left hard bag.  I'm wondering if the Prius driver had some yellow paint on his car.  I was waiting for several weeks for some sort of "hit and run" notice, but nothing ever came of it.

That incident helped form my opinion that approximately 80% of Prius drivers are clueless.

That depends. A Dick move is done on purpose with full knowledge that you are a dick. That differentiates it from the merely clueless

Today's dick move:

I'm in the minivan and I stop at a four way stop.

A black BMW is approaching the intersection at a good clip, but I start to go anyway (hey, it's my turn)

While I'm half way through the intersection he makes a move to turn right in front of me, so I slow way down. At the last minute, he stops, realizing I'm there.

I give him the "I've got two kids in the car you asshole" scowl and proceed.

At which point, he pulls in behind me and then passes me on the left, despite the oncoming traffic.

Next time I'm just gonna ram him.

Although, in his defense, if I spend that much on a car I didn't know how to drive, I'd be bitter and angry too.
