I think you'd have to be a chinless wonder to wear one of those gay looking things, so any damage incurred as you go sliding down the road after parting company with your scooter would be minimal anyway.

Six, poncy mate, no question. I don't like open face either. I am no oil painting, but the thought of sliding down a cheese grater (ie the road) on my face leaves me feeling cold. Full face with a tinted visor looks best. Gives the girls some mystery, and time to admire the bike before they see your face! Grin

in a 60km/h crash into the side of a car i banged my head on said car hard enough to crack a full face and damage teeth.  no way i wear anything like that.  scooter riders don't seem to appreciate that 60km/h is more than enough to make the beast with two backs you right up.

having said that, of course, i used to ride the pushy at that sort of speed with those crap brakes in nothing more than lycra and a dodgy little helmet.  just makes me shudder now.

Can't say I would wear one! My concern with an open face helmet is actually leaving half your face in the bitumen in the case of an accident Roll Eyes

I agree Tri,a full face also will muffle you screams the moment you realize you are going to crash  Shocked

Saying that the open face would be cool around town for the coffee runs  waytogo

What, so you can sip your latte while cruising up and down the main drag on the D16?

In Italy they were wearing the momo's...they do look good on a scooter....but I'm with Brad on this....the fact is....30 kph doesn't feel like much until your hitting the ground at that speed..then it's amazingly fast and these scooter idiots and their "I don't need to wear protection I don't go above 80" (that is a paraphrase from one of the 'scooter' club presidents down here - don't get me started on 'scooter gangs') just doesn't wash!

But I'm not very attractive...so I like my full face!
