Are you hitting on TL? This sounds like a pick-up line.

My fingertips were pretty numb after my 10 minute commute. With the Olympia lined jacket & pants and a balaclava, everything else was okey dokey.

I would like to get me one of those balaclavas, I guess they come in different materials. I'd also like a solution to the numb fingers without going electric. I got new cold weather gloves and silk liners but that ain't enough at 30 and 90.

I rode in 30min at 70, Wow my hands hurt on when I got here. I am going electric any suggestions on what kind and where to buy? A suggestion on the balaclava, the Louis Garneau found in bicycle shops works well for me.

Okay, I'll check on the Louis Garneau.
Hey D2R, what brand did you get?
I checked the Aerostitch website and their balaclava was full open face. Will's has a big hole for the eyes and smaller holes for nose and tongue.

I got my
Schampa Pharoah Deluxe II
at the moto show. It's done a great job of blocking out the cold and wind. I know MotoLiberty carries some Schampa stuff, but not sure if they carry "the gimp". Stay away from the model with the ball in the mouth. That would be "full gimp", and we all know you never go "full gimp".
I've also got a
Louis Garneau
that I use when it's around 50-60*. It's thinner, lighter, and less cumbersome.
My only complaint with balaclavas is that they tend to force the moist breath up and fog the visor. For me I'm constantly adjusting vents to find the right balance of airflow to keep the visor clear. From what I've heard, anti-fog stuff doesn't really work so I've learned to live with the constant adjustments.

I don't knowmuch bout that new fangled electric stuff but I'm just sayin, I got a balaclava, ski gloves, and some ski pants for cold weather and have no probs at 30 degrees @ 100. Course I got big sbk fairing up front too. That helps keep the heat from the engine directed at me in winter
...and also in summer
. I have had frost bite before on my fingers from skiing with poor mits. I know when it gets to 40 outside without seeing a thermometer. These gloves and stuff I got from Academy do the job fine all for about 70$.
