Does Ducati use a 2:1:2 exhaust for their 1198? It sure looks like it from those pics.

"So, new team, new circuit, new bike, new tires, slight jet lag, and a soft motor spec = 2nd place for Spies.

Wow."

Yeah, no shit.  Jeebus.  This is gonna be fun to watch.   Grin

Spies is gonna piss more people off in the paddock if he doesn't learn to watch his words carefully.  Did you see that part where he said that some of the WBSK guys could definitely win AMA superbike?  Not well said, Ben.  I know what he means and he might be right, but not everyone shares his (and our) belief in how good he and Mladin are.  Either one would be very competive at the international level, and thus winning AMA superbike is no walk in the park.  But Ben needs to realize that everyone else thinks AMA<WSBK.  I like the guy, but if he makes a habit of putting his foot in his mouth, it's gonna get nasty.

all generally true.  but i bet even now that opinion is starting to rapidly change.

I saw that he went to WSBK, but didn't really follow it (too many other moves happenin' and AMA turmoil).  Where's he?   And howz he doin'?

he went to WSS, only for the last three races of the season, filling in for the late craig jones at parkalgar honda.  he got (i think) 10th and then 8th in the first two races.  in the third (final of the season, in portugal, parkalgar's home) he briefly lead the race and missed the last podium spot by .043 seconds.  he was fighting up front the whole race.. got *everyone's* attention.

he got a factory AMA superbike ride for '09 @ yamaha, alongside bboz.

Ah, that's right.  How'd I brain fart on that one?  Rhetorical.  No need to respond.   Wink
