also to keep in mind in fairness...this is all null and void once the lights go out and we go racing at Philip Island...their times at practise right now mean relatively little as they are mostly tuning and testing and collecting data more than setting up for race day...these boys are being used as test mules moreso than as racers right now...

agreed, but it's not relatively little.  testing times = confidence.  confidence is all important when the lights go out.

regardless, quit trying to suck the fun out of this  Smiley

I disagree with you there...confidence is something they mostly already have or they wouldn't be out there...

now...where's my wet/dry shop vac so I can go suck the fun out of some other stuff?!?!?!

the difference between mostly already have (agree with you there) and really in the zone is the difference between fighting for the podium and... not.

esp in wsbk/wss, if you aren't attacking you're just a guy doing some advertising laps.  to attack, you have to have confidence in the package and yourself.  it's a major, major factor.

And he did it without putting his foot in his mouth today.  He's learning.  And the Ducs are lookin' good.  1st and 3rd.   waytogo

Is that BMW gonna be a total dog or are they gonna get it together for race season?

I'm not sure about the camo leathers that "dogs borrocks" is wearing.

Anyone want to bet that Spie's HJC paint features a stars and stripes? Anyone? Bueller?

BMW has their own methodology about doing things racing oriented...hell..in production vehicles too for that matter...but I am sure they are going to take all the data from Kyalami and crunch some numbers and make some stuff and improvements based on the feedback they got from Ruben and Troy...and who knows...

I'm not sure about the camo leathers that "dogs borrocks" is wearing.

yeah...I was looking at those and thinking..."whattta fashion clash"...

BMW is... german Wink.  exacting, precise.  they have a plan.  they've already said they don't expect to win races until 2010.  could be marketing, but still.

they also made arguably the perfect hires to get this program off the ground: corser may as well be german.  he's so specific, so exact.  when he's in the zone, every single lap is identical.  and he (obviously) has the experience to tell them what he needs/what they need.

then they have hair-on-fire-when-i'm-standing-still xaus.  he'll take all their know-how and corser's down to the degree feedback and then go test it at 130%.  he'll wad up the bike a lot but he'll give them the other half of the equation, the info they need to win races.

plus BMW wouldn't have gotten into wsbk unless they intended to be here for a long time.

and nori: far from the first time he's raided barry manilow's closet.
